Anyone know about decks? Mine is pressure treated, covered in algae? and the finish is worn off. What do I need to do refinish it? Pressure washing? Sanding? What kind of stain should I use?

hooray! we sold out of our first batch of Eclipse Puzzles. We are making more! But we still have Mini Eclipse Puzzles available: https://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/shop/product.php?code=421

The mini eclipse has the sun on one side and is stained black on the other.

I might prefer the aesthetic of the black stained wood to the moon actually

We made a double-sided jigsaw puzzle of the sun and moon. Flipping pieces over simulates a total solar eclipse. It's available now in our shop! Please share with folks who might be interested https://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/shop/product.php?code=422

The solar eclipse inspired our new puzzle design! It's double-sided: the sun on one side and the moon on the other. By flipping pieces over, you can gradually eclipse the sun turning day to night https://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/blog/?p=9636

The Eclipse puzzle assembled to to show the sun eclipsed halfway
The Eclipse puzzle assembled to to show the sun eclipsed 3/4 of the way
The Eclipse puzzle assembled to to show the sun fully eclipsed by the moon

Native violets are popping up between the concrete pavers we designed and made! I am am very excited

Super fun house ownership problems: we can’t find our septic tank…despite knowing approximately where it is. I’m starting to suspect it’s really really far down so no matter how far we dig we’re not going to reach it. It’s this concrete box in the bottom left of the photo.

Plot twist: the local plumber showed up and he knew where it was. The lid is made of 3 giant slabs of sidewalk stone that have to be lifted for it to be emptied

It’s really weird to visit a thing you spent a year designing on a tiny screen but now it’s 120’ tall and real

Jessica stands under the smaller section of Xylem Arbor with arms upraised. Her green pants and yellow safety vest match the green panels of the artwork.

This section of Xylem Arbor is inspired by sea fans. The panels of this region have irregular edges and have a densely interconnected branched structure. They gently bend off the wall, overlapping in hues of turquoise.

OMG I didn’t realize projection mapping had become so common that home sewers are using short throw projectors for patterns. So awesome! No more printing and tapping together pattern sheets

nervous_jessica,
@nervous_jessica@mastodon.social avatar

@forresto I’m very excited to try this out when I get into sewing again. But I also often just use my lasercutter to skip this step entirely
