@rostundrad
Was hast Du bestellt?
@StillIRise1963 For sure. They should also keep innovating materials. Maybe they can let an AI design a submarine, and then 3d print it out of carbon fibre?
@schmittlauch@fedibikes_de
PS: Zur Frage woher die Farbe kommt, siehe auch den Abschnitt "What are tanwall tires anyway?"
"Tubulars had tan walls because of their construction. [...] These tire casings were usually made from natural fibers like cotton, which became tan in color after being processed and sealed. Tire tread was then glued to the top of the casing. The tan sidewalls remained exposed, thus producing the classic tanwall look."
@tobi@schmittlauch@fedibikes_de
Now SNCF TER Bourgogne Franche Comté announcement is telling me the compulsory reservation of bikes “is for everyone’s security”
Fuck off. Really.
The train is quite empty. As far as I can tell there are 2 non folded bikes on board, and space for 12.
And the reason for your stupid bold reservation rules isn’t our safety. It’s because the Région - for cost reasons - ordered trains that are too small.
@wikinaut@fedibikes_berlin@berlin_radler Ohje.
@lzg That's the easier and more logical state of things. Before the 1996 writing reform, we hat cases where you had to concatenate 3 identical consonants to 2, and cases where you should not...
It’s a German trailer - Croozer. And I’m in France currently. The only stockist of just this part I can find is in Freiburg 🇩🇪 and their online shop won’t send to 🇫🇷
That 🇪🇺 Single Market, eh?
So I’m going to try my luck with a Chinese generic one from Amazon instead 😡
@jon Spare part availability is always annoying when I need to get them.
(I rarely had issues getting shipping to Germany from Belgium, Spain, France - besides high costs. Is this harder the other way around?)
German "progressives" are so obsessed with taking right wing trolls serious. Trying to argue with them and convince them with facts...
One extremely tiring trope in this area relates to #cargobikes . One might call it "Look how much I can carry on my cargobike!" WHO are you trying to convince?
There are some cats that are like dogs? Not sure if this is real or just some stuff people make up on social media. Taking a cat in their campervan, taking it out on a leash...
Credit where credit is due! I'd really like to take a minute and thank Jia Tan how they helped us to finally get sd_notify() support merged into OpenSSH upstream!
Ultimately, DB cannot have it both ways - either DB Navigator plays a quasi social function in public transport in Germany - so must sell any train ticket (even non-DB ones)
Or we see what tools the market can build - and we go for an open data model, inc. data on live running - and whoever builds the best product wins out
But for the moment DB is refusing both of these routes
@jon Maybe. Maybe not. But things being shitty already is not a good argument for adding reasons for companies to treat passengers bad or possible barriers for improving on the status quo.
@jon At least within Germany I always felt to have reasonable rights with DB tickets, even with other local operators involved.
And with more liberal ticketing, I'd guess we'd and up with recommendations similar to airline travel, where many people say "Use search engine X for finding the trip, but buy at the airline."
Some operators would probably even pull stuff like "If you're on a stuck train, you'll get drinks or taxis if you bought your ticket with us." if it isn't forbidden.
