For me, the most dangerous part may be the assumption that the attack is due to a „missunderstanding“ of what sociology really is, as the put it. Of course, there are myths and lies circulating in the radical right. But make no mistake, they do not distinguish between purportedly more activist or positivist researchers. 1/2

Interesting paper on the role of science in policy advising within the European Union. The authors develop 5 scenarios and reflect on their implications and dangers. Overall they argue for an open and participatory science as a basis for sound policy advising avoiding the pitfalls of anti-scientific populism and purportedly neutral expertocracy.

In der Klasse unserer Tochter ist die Gründung einer Eltern-WhatsApp-Gruppe geplant. Jetzt ist Aufklärung mit Fingerspitzengefühl gefragt. Einerseits will man nicht der Bedenkenträger sein, der das ohnehin schon angekratzte Datenschutzbild weiter beschädigt, andererseits ist die Nutzung von WhatsApp gerade im schulischen Kontext einfach nicht in Ordnung.

@kuketzblog Finde da die Mail von Dir sehr gut. ich weiß, dass es oft nicht so leicht da den richtigen Ton zu finden und trotzdem klar zu sein. Ich drücke die Daumen, dass es eine Konstruktive Diskussion gibt. Und letztlich ist ja auch schon viel gewonnen, wenn es einen Teil sensibilisiert.

Ich bin mir nicht 100% sicher dazu:
Würde die Clique ihre Mandate niederlegen, gäbe es Nachrückerinnen von den Landeswahllisten, und der Fraktionsstatus bliebe damit erhalten? Sprich auch die Mitarbeiterinnen bis Ende der Legislatur beschäftigt.

Auf die Wagenknecht &Co ja angeblich Rücksicht nehmen und erst im Januar die Fraktion verlassen wollen. Womit dann automatisch der Status Fraktion aberkannt wird?

Welch bodenlose Niedertracht🤬 🤮

Interesting discussion paper on the long-term impact of winning an grant. It turns out that whether you get the grant has no significant impact on publication performance for those who rank similarly in the application process. Winning an EU grant makes it more likely to receive further EU funding, though.
