On Fridays I encourage people to share the things they’ve learned this week with the hashtag. It doesn’t have to be anything new or groundbreaking, but if you learned it, someone else might learn it too.

At work this is me running a low stakes 5 minute presentation (with 5 minutes preparation) event. I then edit videos and put them where people can find them. (I love rewatch.com btw) I don't know if other people who run speaking events see this but every video I have ever edited starts "Sooo.." until today! Someone didn't say so in the beginning at all!

    Tired of being exploited and want to exploit others? Finally get ahead in this rat race?

    Instead, create a co-op and spread the profits around. You'll maintain your employees better, everyone benefits, and we start to end this cycle of exploit or be exploited.

    Does anyone who still works at npmjs.org follow me?

    I’ve discovered that config field in package.json isn't provided by the registry server for the abbreviated response (“application/vnd.npm.install-v1+json" content-type), which means that npm_package_config_* are never set for a package fetched from the registry, but would be set for package installed from a local directory. This breaks some scripts that we have when using npm, but not when using yarn.

    lost communications with during the 's descent for landing after its pop-up , a few sols ago.

    The helicopter was already out of sight and at a distance of ~1km, as seen in the map below. There is an obstructing mound about midway that rises 13m above the line-of-sight, which might be the reason for the loss of signal. Despite that, assuming Ingenuity's landing software worked as usual, the helicopter may be in good health, but

    I was trying to test a little video transmitter I received in the mail that and so far it's not working.

    But while I had one of my little portable TVs out, it started picking up the audio from a local TV station and the audio from a local radio station at the same time. I don't know how it's picking up audio from a local TV station since everything is supposed to be digital now, but it's doing it

    Noting that “everyone can play their part when it comes to safety,” Boeing CEO asks passengers seated in the window seats of MAX planes to “push real hard” against door plug before takeoff and alert flight crew if it falls to tarmac.

    @KatM @philip_cardella @SonofaGeorge @MissingThePt @lisamelton That's wild!

    In particular the Boeing 737 Max has issues, If I recall correctly they decided to cut costs and layoff a ton of people and replace them with newer cheaper inexperienced people. These planes have had problems since they rolled off the line. They went from a culture of weighing metal shavings to ensure all was accounted for to loosing tools inside the airplane.

    @KatM @philip_cardella @SonofaGeorge @MissingThePt @lisamelton There was a crazy article about Boeing South Carolina and how it was unsafe and a poor shift in the companies culture and practices but I can't find it.

    The wikipedia article on the max is also wild, it gives a very good history of the problems https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_737_MAX
