What spine labels, printing methods, and protectors do you recommend?

We have enough books (~500) in our non-fiction collection at home, that I want to label them properly — and LONG LASTING — with DDC call numbers. I tried some Dymo thermal labels, and they faded inside of 9 months. (They were old stock labels, in case that was the problem.) We’re using Libib to catalog our collection, if any label workflows tie into that.

I told my emulator to dump the RAM for a DS game and it created a 6.9 gigabyte file

I'm not an expert but I don't think the DS has that much RAM

Has anybody got Personal Voice working in a Catalyst app? I jumped through hoops to get user authentication, and it works fine on iOS, but on Mac I get the following error in the console:

Caller does not have kTCCServiceVoiceBanking access to personal voices. No speech will be generated
Voice not allowed to render speech! Will not set up synthesizer. Bailing now

Which interestingly also implies that Personal Voice started as a voice banking feature?! (Edit: Or maybe just “banking” your voice…)

Anyone have recommendations for Matter hubs or controllers? My needs are simple don't really want to super automate now. I mostly need cams and window/door sensors. Already have a couple of Nest cams, use a Samsung phone, but I have one iOS device. Really dislike Alexa but not sure if I want a Google or Appme hub. Aqara does.look nice as well

@malducin I use home assistant, but supposedly with the latest updates, Apple TV is now also a Matter hub, linking it to Apple Home, if that’s your thing. I still need to hammer some things out myself so less an endorsement than a suggestion

Watched an autobiographical play by a man who emigrated unplanned from Iraq to Canada after he came to Toronto to show a movie he had acted in, about homosexuality in Iraq, and was suddenly unable to safely return because the TIFF appearance brought the film negative government attention.

After the play tried to look up the movie, "The Society". Found it was on Letterboxd but every review was people who found there was no page for a Netflix show of the same name and decided to just comment here

i was talking about the society on Netflix, the TV show Abot the show, it was garbage but in an wntertaining way

I guess for magazines I have PDFs mostly. I … haven’t really considered photos aside from basically throwing everything in Apple Photos (née iPhoto) and crossing my fingers.

A friend of mine died this week unexpectedly. We hadn’t talked in a while and I felt awkward about texting, but was reminded to reach out two weeks ago. Stupidly (selfishly), I put it off. I will regret the decision of not letting them know how much I cared about them forever. Don’t be like me. Let the people you care about know while you can.
