Excuse me

The Spotify Car Thing cost $100, but I can't use it anymore. (lemmy.ml)

EDIT: The only reason why I still had it at this point was because I could use it with other apps. However, now that my Spotify Subscription is cancelled, it doesn’t work with anything. It’s mildly infuriating because today, I can’t still use it with other apps like I was able to yesterday....

Third candidates don't even work, so that will only backfire unless First Past the Post voting is replaced.

    PeepinGoodArgs,

    From here:

Google financed the development of a “sidestream facility” about five miles away from its data center. The system intercepts water from the Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority’s treatment plant that would otherwise be discharged into the Chattahoochee River — which holds status as a National Water Trail. That water is then sent to Google’s facility for use in the cooling process. Any water that isn’t evaporated is treated using effluent equipment at Google’s site, and then returned to the river.

The article notes that some of that water is ground water that’s drinkable, too. But there’s no proportion of drinkable to waste water provided.

    vd1n,

Good so when it over flows it can drain in the sink. Perfect.

What I think kbin needs to do to survive, and why I think it has a better chance than any other Reddit alternative I've seen yet.

I’m a Reddit refugee who was on that platform for 10+ years. I saw not just a tremendous amount of controversies, but attempts at introducing alternatives to Reddit during all of them. The 2015 blackout saw a ton of alternatives suggested, and if you go back and look at them many have either not survived or never achieved...

    RemembertheApollo,

I suggest "Binners" for fun. Sounds trashy, lol.

Say what you will, I need myself a racially diverse tetris now. We should all aspire to be L shaped block.

It's so hard to even make fun of that without sounding like I'm on the extreme right, but I am CACKLING

That's hilarious, and about on par with most of the writing on so-called journalism sites these days. Glorious!

kbin is newer and less polished. But yeah I personally recommend kbin over lemmy for exactly the reasons you posted.

CEO of sub firm who died in implosion reportedly quoted as saying "At some point safety is pure waste." Can't help but wonder if his paying passengers knew about that quote, despite the onerous safety disclaimer they apparently each signed.

    Mxhrad,

    @lauren

I was referring to the CEO. Others dying is sad, but I have no sympathy for the arrogant ass who put others' lives in danger.

look I'm not an expert at this computers thing, but I'm pretty sure a pointer shouldn't be set to 14

gah these mothefuckers. the encoding, when trying to fwrite() a struct, checks some cache to see if it's fwrote() that cache before.
if so, instead of writing it out again, it'll include it in the offset list as a negative number, so that it'll read the previous version instead.

all this work and pointer abuse they're reinventing a half-assed version of zlib

LemmyNSFW annouced that they would allow loli/shota and people on other instances did not react positively

there was an update from the admins of lemmy.nsfw where language barriers got in the way and the wrong impression was made, which was quickly addressed by the instance's other admin as well as edited by its' original author....
