    Why assume anything? To strawman?

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

Why not tell the mods to correct the rules if you don't like them, instead of just deleting the whole thing?

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

Because not every topic is relevant to every community?

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

If it was on-topic it was allowed as the other rules clearly stated.

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

Well, probably not anymore, since not allowing lgbt discussion is enough to get your community banned without warning. Its always on topic.

There were a total of 12 threads there and not one of them was the slightest bit bigoted. Get a grip.

Does anyone else feel churches are pushing gendered Bible studies way too hard? (kbin.social)
Maybe it’s because I was growing out of youth groups, but It seemed to me that coed Bible studies used to be more of the norm. Now all of a sudden we have men’s groups and women’s groups. And men’s groups are all about Bible, throwing axes and equating 400 pushups to mountain climb your way into heaven. And women’s...

This Sunday, pray for missionaries that are overseas. (kbin.social)
You can pray for missionaries in general (which is great), or you can ask your church about specific missionaries they support (which is also great).

What are you grateful to God for today? (kbin.social)
I’m feeling convicted about some sin I’ve been struggling with. Thankful that I can approach the throne of grace with confidence where I can find mercy, be freed from shame and cling to God’s strength as I seek to be holy. Praise Jesus for his love that has made this relationship possible....

    Ace Lifestyle? (kbin.social)
I was reading the rules and it said "This community does not affirm practiced LGBTQ+ lifestyles, with the exception of the ace lifestyle in certain contexts.", what is an "ace lifestyle"?

    Introduce Yourselves (kbin.social)
Greetings, everyone! As many of you know, there is a huge influx of new users coming to Lemmy from Reddit. This includes yours truly, by the way. Whether you're a Reddit escapee or coming from somewhere else entirely, please feel free to introduce yourself here - not your real name, of course (don't doxx yourself!), but a little...

You're the one claiming they are like stormfront, and I've just shown otherwise. Want to try again?

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

You could delete the rule and then put a post in the community asking for someone to step up to moderate.

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

So, why not install one of the members there as mod to clean up the rule (which has never been enforced). As it is, it's been nuked - the community name is banned forever, and the members are sol.

edit: The community was deleted less than an hour after this thread went up, there was no effort made to correct the problem whatsoever.

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

They can appeal and if they don’t have anyone to do that there is another problem because that goes against the moderation rules on this instance.

If it's against the rules to be unmoderated, there should be a way to add mods, since there's obviously no way for the current non-existent mod to do so.

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

There were no rules banning gays or lgbt topics, in fact there were multiple of said discussions in the community.

wish these companies making soft routers would give a couple options with a nas case instead. 4 bay n5105 or n100 for cheap would be a nice low power side grade to my old e3,

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

Yeah. There are a lot of them, all pretty good. servethehome has done reviews for many- N100 version

If they removed all but one 2.5gbe port, it might not even be any more expensive to give 4 sata and a case.

These trackers don't show the "exclusive Prime price," so you need to see the price in page along with the chart to actually tell anything.

Since lemmyverse supports kbin magazines, can your bot be made to include them as well?

    Modern applications using head-tracked pseudo-3D? (www.youtube.com)

15 years ago a video from Johnny Lee demonstrating head tracking pseudo-3D (i.e. perspective correction, not stereoscopic) using a Wiimote. I remember a bunch of other tech demos popping up a little later (e.g. Sony had one using their camera and face tracking, Microsoft did something with Kinect in Forza)....

OC Project Farm's 3D printed ratchet video highlights some not-so-obvious problems

I love the YT channel Project Farm. It's unbiased, well thought out, practical, and numbers-focused (as much as a video can have without getting boring) approach is refreshing. Not every test is perfect, not every sample size appropriate, but this is a mechanical guy that knows his shit and is as curious about the results as the...

The rachet didn't fail at the layer lines, the gears stripped. It could be a slight under-extrusion or designed with a lot of clearance to make sure it will actually be able to move after print.

Please upgrade to 0.9.1 as a workaround to connection issues to lemmy.world.

Lemmy 0.18 broke direct connection to the Lemmy API from web clients with a very strange merge request two weeks ago. I have no idea what the motive was for this to be merged. Suffice it to say, it’s been the source of a ton of headache today. github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3191...

    arkcom,

Reading the comments, it looks like breaking clients was the purpose of the original merge.

I'm planning to self-host a Reddit like instance for myself, but I'm between Lemmy and kbin . Essentially I want to host my own data, and jump into discussions from other communities.

With a limited search results, people praise for , and bash developers about their world and political views, however Lemmy is written with , and Kbin with .

I just want to migrate to what people will be using to.

So, which solution would you prefer?

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

@arda Make sure you are working from the develop branch. I don't think it has made it to main yet.

    arkcom,
    arkcom avatar

I think SirPsychoMantis fixed his too. Been working for me since last update.

    arkcom,

Any thoughts on this vs Alyx for about the same price?
