I still read a lot of "paper" books and take A LOT of notes which often slows me down. My process is to transcribe from the book, there has to be a better way.
Does anyone have any apps that are very streamlined for taking notes while reading on paper & automatic appending to a note?
Update: Actually, Highlighted is exactly that. Capture OCR highlights from books, export a TXT/Markdown/CSV…

If a book called itself a "Tiny Book of [topic]", what would you expect from the tininess? Physical size, page count, content – and where goes your limit for "tiny" in those?
@hamatti When I read your toot yesterday the first thing I thought of were the Very Short Introductions series. The books are small enough to fit in an inside pocket and skim the surface of the subject.
I once lent the Capitalism book to my friend and never got it back 😔. She said she lost it, probably because it’s so small 😭

Everything's fine, by Cecilia Rabess. He's white, rich, works in finance, has rich friends, votes for Trump. She's black, very smart, is doing ok but her career doesn't fly, has rich friends, mostly white. The book tells their story and it's all in the present tense, giving a feel of inevitability to it all. The story of how you can end up being in a relationship with someone who has very different views to yours. A story that is left incomplete, because how long can you go on telling yourself that Everything's Fine?

As context we're a very flat group, no one into hierarchical power differences, my ego isn't a factor. We have several newer staff (about to go up to 9, from 3 people in Feb. 2022) and we're 100% telework, want to build/maintain sense of belonging.
