De todo el mareo con #Kbin y #Lemmy para grupos en #Mastodon puedo decir que aunque Kbin salga ganando no hay mucho visible desde Mastodon que justifique su uso para agrupar conversaciones de ciertos temas en lugar de usar hashtags.
Por ello activé en los grupos de Kbin que añadan las publicaciones que usen su respectivo hashtag como hilo de su sección de microblog.
Quien prefiera usar cuenta de Kbin en vez de Mastodon tiene cierta ventaja para comunicarse con el fediverso como si fuera #Reddit.
Siendo positivo y práctico sé que cualquiera puede seguir usando #Mastodon y entrar a #Kbin sin necesidad de crear una cuenta nueva, usar el buscador para navegar entre comunidades y en caso de encontrar cualquier hilo o comunidad con la que quiera interactuar, copiar su enlace, pegarlo en el buscador de su instancia de Mastodon y seguir desde ahí.
Ojalá fuera más cómodo, eso sí.
Pena que desde Mastodon los perfiles de los grupos de Kbin y #Lemmy se muestran vacíos aunque tengan publicaciones.
Google provides a tool called PageSpeed Insights which gives a website some metrics to assess how well it is put together and how fast it loads. There are a lot of technical details but in general green scores are good, orange not great and red is bad.
I tried to ensure the tests were similar for each platform by choosing a page that shows a list of posts, like https://mastodon.social/explore.
The rest don’t seem to have prioritized performance or chose a software architecture that cannot be made to perform well on these metrics. It will be very interesting to see how that affects the cost of running large instances and the longevity of the platforms. Time will tell.
First, I think Ernest has done a fantastic job and I've been rooting for him this whole time. But it's becoming clear it's all too much for him without the support of a larger team....

karab.in teraz nie działa, ale jak działa to mogę tam wyszukać sienbie i czasem nawet jakieś moje tootki i licznik reputacji sie kreci (cokolwiek to znaczy :>)
kbin.social moge sie wyszukać, tootki są ale repytacja stoi w miejscu czy li sie nie synchronizuje
bin.pol.social nie moge nawet wyszukać siebie (tego tutaj siebie).
I to tylko przykład, ale skoro one są do tego stopnia out of sync to czy jesli ktoś chce śledzić magazyn o nie wiem hodowli pasikoników spożywczych to ... musi śledzić fefnaście magazynow na wszystkich karabinach? Czy to nie powinno toworzyc na poziomie magazynow jakichs globalnych meta spolecnzosci? Czy wszystko żle rozumiem?

It's a shame that #Kbin seems stagnant. Here's to hoping @ernest gets well and gets the backup he needs to excel.
Abandoned large magazines are being bombarded with spam and admins are nowhere to be seen it seems. Hundreds of spam bot posts have not been deleted for months, see /infosec /internet /opensource /science, etc. and there are some posts about admins not responding to reports. So whats happening here?...
Testing out #mbin because I just couldn't stand the timeout errors on #kbin anymore. Does anyone know if mbin pulls in upline changes from kbin, or is it a hard fork at this point?
#kbin is a mostly great Reddit-Like service that collects the fediverse into one place. That is an issue because there are servers out there which post illegal stuff. My day was ruined by reporting those who post that gross, illegal content! 🤢
I'm probably going to play No Man's Sky for the rest of today to get over the icky and uncomfortable feeling that pervades my mind. Especially since I'm still trying to complete the Living Starship Quest.
@CaptManiac I'm struggling with it as well, finding a portal at the best of times is challenging! Now my luck has been reduced to nothing. I might take a break and do an Expedition so my mind doesn't break due to being subjected to the whimsy of RNG.
There seems to be a few waves of users created just to post spam specifically in kbin. It's quite strange as the posts are so obvious and they keep getting downvoted. I'm also blocking the users but I can't see a way to report them. Is there a better way to handle this situation?

i'm still on #kbin for the #fedivoyage. One major confusiong aspect is the difference between boosting and faving: These seem to be two different things and only one works as "upvote" as reddit does – but it's not clear which one... Most sources on kbin say boost=upvote, but the explanations are confusing. Most sources outside kbin say the opposite. :/
Summing up, I'm really confused by #kbin. I think #lemmy is easier to use, but I imagine that if you are using it a lot, the confusing kbin features start to make sense and be really useful. #fedivoyage
