brunus, to tech French Firefox Tip of ze day :
- Sur mon laptop, je ne parvenais pas à ajouter ZoTop comme moteur de recherche, en usant de la méthode classique de sélection de l'url/click-droit/ajouter à la recherche.
- J'ai ZoTop en moteur de recherche par défaut sur ma station de travail.
- J'ai chopé le fichier search.json.mozlz4 de la conf du FF de ma station pour remplacer celui du laptop
- Ça fonctionne, ZoTop est parmi les moteurs utilisables sur le FF du laptop.

"#Facewatch later wrote to Sara and acknowledged it had made an error..."
Lazarou, @alexanderhay oh look, it's exactly what everyone said would happen.

MsHearthWitch, to technology I loathe current-AI in basically all its forms. It's unethical, absolutely divorced from anything that resembles consent.
But you know what I would want AI for?
Smarter driving instructions. A GPS in my car that learns how I like to drive - no lefts on busy streets for example. That when I ask about things like a coffee shop or takeout food en route gives me the option to specify if it has a drive thru and is it on the right side of the road?
AI that serves me, not replaces me.
Jorah, @MsHearthWitch For me, the starting point for an improved driving app would be one that recognizes that my stopping for fuel isn't a crisis.
Sklent, @MsHearthWitch Tech companies definitely need more rules and more naps.

Sachin Dev Duggal, the use of computer science programming to mimic human cognition and behavior is known as artificial intelligence (AI). AI can do this by accessing information and the surrounding environment, anticipating or resolving problems, learning from experience or by itself, and adapting to a range of tasks....

parismarx, to tech “The thing that really upset Dorsey: Bluesky users demanded moderation and Bluesky put it into place. Yeah, that was the whole issue.”
Good reflection on “decentralized” social media and what Dorsey really wants from it by @davidgerard:
wjmaggos, @mpjgregoire @parismarx @davidgerard
with so much money and #ActivityPub already working, he had to go build his own? I'm disappointed in him. harrumph.
mpjgregoire, @wjmaggos
Mr. Gerard mentions in his article the strange omission of ActivityPub from Mr. Dorsey's interview. I can see why he might think ActivityPub doesn't meet all his goals for a protocol, but the fact that it already exists and is growing should be reason to work for improvement, not to start a new initiative.@parismarx @davidgerard
TechDesk, to tech Did Meta, “Call of Duty” and gun manufacturer Daniel Defense “groom” the shooter who killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas? Wrongful-death lawsuits brought by the victims’ families say yes. Read more from Tech Crunch: https://flip.it/QVEKdG

danie10, @TechDesk crazy how would car manufacturers be held accountable for a driver who drives drunk or drives over a pedestrian... Games like this, too, can also help alleviate the rage that some people feel. If the allegation is correct, the majority of these players should be committing shooting crimes specifically.

vimism? (genuine suggestion for a genuine question ... it's the term my brain uses)
