Made a lace-weight cotton square! Now I just need to decide what I could make of this pattern ... #MelindreaMakes@fibreart
Mercerized cotton, lace weight (slightly thinner than a #10 crochet cotton in the US) using a 1.5mm hook.
« … Among mankind also there are necessarily differences of elevation; it is impossible to bring about universal equality. But it is important that differences in social rank should not be arbitrary… »
#KnowNothing#CardiB is too stupid to realize that NOT voting for #Biden is a vote FOR #Trump, and that her boycott of #Election2024 could be her last — She might not get another opportunity to vote EVER.
Do you mean take the board out of this case and put it in another, bigger one?
I actually do have a larger, older tower that I fished out of the trash. Came with a 56k modem! But I don’t know if they would fit together. I also don’t notice anywhere particularly suitable to holding a bunch of storage; I guess I would have to buy (or make?) some pieces.
Here is the board configuration for the Small Form Factor:
I did try using #9 and #10 for storage and I seem to recall it kind of worked but didn’t totally work but not sure of the details. But hey, at least I can use a CD drive and a floppy drive at the same time!
@vick21 I understand this is not a good way to measure by any mean, but regardless let's do some math! Globally there are 43M blind people , According to WHO. There are over 250k NVDA users in 175 countries, According to NVDA creators. Let's just say 300k. According to screen reader survey #10, NVDA counts for 37.7%. That means only 1.85% of blind people have access to screen reader. 0.3M/0.377%/43M*100 That's very sad! :( Let me know if I epically failed this math. lol #GAAD
I'm late to the party, but I found out I'm with the majority! lol According to the WebAIM Screen Reader User Survey #10, 68.2% (779 out of 1142) "respondents indicate that individuals should not describe what they look like during a virtual meeting or webinar" for blind and visually impaired participants. #blind#accessibilityhttps://www.webaxe.org/webaim-screen-reader-user-survey-10/
I just looked at XML that embedded some Markdown in an attribute. Which included HTML entities to encode < and >, and the character entity to encode newlines, in that attributized Markdown.
My review of Conan the Barbarian #10 just went up at Grimdark Magazine. The current arc is fun. but I wouldn't mind moving on from the black stone storyline.
Karen Joy Fowler: Cory told me that you, and I quote, "knocked it out of the park" last week.
Me: (flustered) Uh … I … well, I, uh, wrote a story I thought he might like. As I did with Bob … I mean, I don't TAILOR my stories to each instructor but–
KJF: –but you thought @KellyLink and I would enjoy a story about eating children?
Me: Uh …
Anyway, the story that @pluralistic liked is in ParSec #10 today:
Yes, people were often super racist by modern standards, but there was also a less polarized societal climate and stuff like
It’s funny, people always say this, but it just isn’t true. Like somehow racism was okay for awhile, and everyone just agreed on that. I think about the following quotes
[…] They’re violent, they’re vicious, they’re ignorant, and they will cut us up. That’s their intent. To cut us up. [To Juror #7.] I’m warning you. This boy, this boy on trial here. We’ve got him. That’s one at least. I say get him before his kind gets us. I don’t give a goddamn about the law." -Juror #10
“It’s very hard to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this. And wherever you run into it, prejudice always obscures the truth.” -Juror #8.
These are quotes from a 1954 teleplay. We didn’t just suddenly decide one day “hey wait a minute, prejudice against someone based on skin colour… is stupid, and wrong!” It always was, and we always knew it, but we didn’t stop it until an event moved us to.
Inclusion is of course better nowadays but I miss the innocence the past
I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but I am also a white male, and I think you’ll find that the past isn’t so innocent.
How to speed up accessing lots of files on another computer? Some kind of local cache?
