"An instrumental piece that barely lasts two minutes, it has been sampled by pop stars, inspired classical pianists and experimental artists alike, and once cost a major TV network over $100,000."
The #PenPlotter was made for designs like this! I love recreating the original logo specifications. This is just an approximate as the original didn’t have dimensions but love the way it looks.
More logo specification plots. This time, the Aphex Twin logo by Paul Nicholson in 1991. After composing this, I realized the logo I had been using (found online ages ago) wasn’t exactly correct.
If you've not seen the music video for that track, brace yourself; it is, fpr various reasons, not safe to watch at work or during a job interview: https://piped.video/watch?v=UBS4Gi1y_nc
Some of my all-time favorite album artwork. From a one-off collab b/t Richard James (aka Aphex Twin) and Mike Paradinas (aka μ-Ziq), I love the faux Milton Bradley art, and "Expert Knob Twiddlers" is such a silly (and kinda bawdy lmao) album title. It's also a pretty neat album!
This from Richard James/Aphex Twin. Richard James went to the same school as me, though started just after I left, though I knew his sister Sara (mentioned within). Two of The Family Cat, Tim and Kev, (also mentioned within) were among my closest friends at school, another was Dean Leggett from BOB/The Siddeleys etc (whose birthday is also today). I stole this clipping from Kev's fb. #JohnPeel#AphexTwin#TheFamilyCat
Seeing my childhood musical hero #AphexTwin tonight! He's the whole reason I took I started trying to write #ElectronicMusic music in the first place.
Specifically Flim off the Come to Daddy album, I can still remember the first time I heard it like it was yesterday, driving back from Tower Records, popped the cd in, I was expecting it to all be like the title track and then everything changed forever and I have RDJ to thank for it 😊
