Until Wordpress lets us handle their data the way they want, I fail to see that WP can call itself a CMS platform. Main point of consternation is date and future date handling. If I have posts that are set to a future date, maybe I still want to display those on the public area (events anyone?) without needing to install a special plugin for dates. You’re welcome to try and change my mind.
Start of the 2024 DrupalCamp season: @mountaincampch 🏔️ Last week, the Swiss #Drupal community met in idyllic Davos, Switzerland for a three-day event with inspiring talks on topics such as artificial intelligence, the future of headless #CMS and user experience in content creation and site building. We had a great time at the event and look forward to the next edition in 2026. #DrupalCamp#techconference#opensource
#Publii has impressed! A desktop app #CMS for static websites.
The UX could be improved but is good enough and what it provides is awesome!
Works on Linux, Mac & Windows very like WordPress - but no servers!
So you can customise the website, create and format blog posts, preview locally and publish to different static hosting services all very easily.WordPress like themes and plugins from an online marketplace. :+1:
Excited to introduce #DigitalZombies, our featured #TYPO3Partner this week!
As dedicated service providers, they support agencies & freelancers in the TYPO3 community. 🧡
Our first session of What's New in Wagtail is TOMORROW and we'll be repeating the session at an Americas-friendly time on Wednesday. Don't miss your chance to get a sneak peek at upcoming designs, new features, and more!
Merci ! :blobcat_heartcat:
1/2 Speaking of writing articles, this from Paul Scanlon (one of the folks I edit at @TheNewStack) is a good conversation starter: "why a CMS over a file based markdown solution for long form content?"
Paul and I have been emailing back and forth about this. I use #Markdown for my Eleventy site and am fine with it; I usually enter my posts into the Bear app and then copy the MD file over to VS Code to finalize the images, etc. But most content people need and want a WYSIWYG #CMS.
Choosing Drupal as part of your Composable Architecture solution has been a developer topic for a while. If you’re still catching up, our blog post will give you short, informative insights into what this is and why the combination is a knock-out. If anyone can recommend a #CMS that can handle #Wordpress migration AND have a good setup for #webcomics I'd really appreciate it. I've got hundreds of pages that would require migration. :c
