After 75 years of failure, one would imagine that a people would learn what works and what doesn’t, both from their own experience, as well as the experience of others.

In each of the 3 wars, the #Palestinian cause was taken up in a larger global struggle 👀 : first, #WorldWarII, then the #ColdWar, then the #jihadist war against free societies.

#Palestine has served as an excellent rallying cry for OTHERS who only fight [#inTheirName].

For #Palestinians, the result has never been good.

#TimingIsNoCoincidence

The looming #FourthCatastrophe for #Palestinians is also squarely placed in a larger #globalStruggle, and it is timed for #Election2024.

This time it’s the rise of #oligarchs and #fascists in #US & other liberal countries, #Russian #revanchism, & #China’s global ambitions.

Hanford is the most radiologically contaminated place in North America. It is a radioactive cluster-f*ck.

Here, the local paper details how a new agreement dodges cleanup obligations to save money. This puts countless generations at risk.

This is what the former Soviet nuclear submarine «Komsomolets» looks like – 30 years after it sank in the Norwegian Sea. The submarine lies on a depth of nearly 1700 metres, and it was filmed by the ROV «Ægir 6000» on July 7th 2019.

I never realized how close the Kurils are to Japan. Leaving aside, y’know, all of Russian and Japanese history prior to 1945, no wonder the Americans were so keen on becoming friends with Japan after the war.

Even if we definitely should have insisted on more trials of murderers and criminals like Shiro Ishii.

Thomas C. Theiner not active in the fediverse posted some nice pictures on X about how elaborate the air and missiledefense was in europe during the coldwar. An enormous system is required to defend a large territory. We don't have enough equipment to fully protect Ukraine this way so the only option it seems is striking deep inside Russia at missile factories, airbases etc.

A potential war in was supposed to be decided by which one would have been the strongest.

We witnessed how the Russian army wasn't really so strong: but what about the strength of US commitment?
What is stronger?
