#Busted - A specialist #police officer (Roads Policing Unit) in #Yorkshire Northern #England has been sacked for #driving at 154 mph (248 km/h) in a Police vehicle without a valid reason to do so (I don't understand how he thought he'd get away with it, the vehicles are full of telemetry and surveillance kit)

Interesting, California has a pilot program on an effort to charge drivers by the number of miles you drive, instead of through gas taxes. (to make up for lost revenues to EVs, which do not need gasoline). They are paying $400 in gift cards -- and a gas tax or EV registration fee credit -- for taking part in the pilot. https://caroadcharge.com/media/zehd2y5s/ca-sb-339_public-fact-sheet_final_remediated.pdf

I drove a lot this weekend. Soccer, fishing, soccer, and soccer…

I also gave my daughter driving lessons - although I myself didn’t drive, I felt like I drove a car for five hours non stop 🙃

Still, nice to see the sunset while watching my kid to play soccer 😊

And the troglodytes win. With help from the media - Guardian INCLUDED. No one ever looks at the very successful roll out in the Scottish Borders (Conservative council). Grumbles maybe, but I know of no one who wants to go back from safer, more pleasant towns and villages. But what can you expect from a Starmerite?

If you drive, you should be aware of a few things:

  1. Tesla recently remotely installed "full self-driving" (FSD) mode on a great many of its cars...
  2. ...and also activated it on at least some of them, in a way that makes it very easy for a driver to accidentally turn it on.
  3. Therefore, if there's a Tesla on the road anywhere near you, it could be using FSD.

Stay alert, and drive defensively.

Work (hellmazon) is telling us that solar eclipses are nothing new, and that even though our delivery area is entirely within the totality path, no extra traffic congestion or road hazard are anticipated and routes are continuing as normal. Just wear sunscreen and drive carefully.

After the state has started imposing travel and road restrictions due to the expected traffic volume and number of distracted idiots.

I've been up for 2 hours. I already want to go to bed.

has part decriminalised - but I've still not seen any plans on how they reconcile this with their love of and and acceptable limit for in blood being even less than that in the UK! I fear this could lead to selective enforcement , even and a backlash / drivers feeling "persecuted" and moving further towards right-wing conspiracies (or at least the FDP, who have lobbied for the limit to be increased)

Maybe that is why I'm not frustrated as an adult...
