Nordsee: Abkommen zum Schutz der Unterwasserinfrastruktur
Seit den Explosionen der Nord-Stream-Pipelines ist die Bedrohung von Unterwasserinfrastruktur deutlich geworden. Sechs Anrainerstaaten der Nordsee haben sich nun auf ein Abkommen zum Schutz geeinigt.

This Wednesday, an explosion occurred on a major gas pipeline in Iran, connecting the northern and southern regions of the country.
There's uncertainty about how the pipeline was destroyed, but regardless of the method, this event is seen as the #US response to Iran's support of the #Houthi rebels in #Yemen and interference in the #Gaza Strip.

#Swedish prosecutors said on Wednesday they would drop further investigation into explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, confirming earlier media reports.
"The conclusion of the investigation is that Swedish jurisdiction does not apply and that the investigation therefore should be closed," the Swedish Prosecution Authority said in a statement.

If the huge emission from the NordStream leak is included emissions would instead increase by 7%. But that’s still to be decided. Sweden is not connected to that pipeline, and has no economic or other interest in it, even though the leak happened within the Swedish economic zone.

Throwback to when I made a lot of people throw a hissyfit to a degree where their grammar broke down when I said that it was tangibly more probable the Ukraine and not Russia sabotaged the #Nordstream pipeline
Ukrainian action always seemed like the most likely explanation of the bombing of the #NordStream gas #pipeline. I wouldn't be surprised though if the US government had some involvement, or at least approved the operation. Germany has less temptation to cut a deal with Russia now, whatever #GerhardSchröder might suggest.
