No. 327 is very recent work from me that taps into my "spiral" phase--a space-inspired, whorl-based minimalist-ish work in warm tones of red, orange, and yellow with dramatic lighting. You can find it here: https://jon-woodhams.pixels.com/featured/no-327-jon-woodhams.html

This is No. 414. I used to try to find clever titles for my work, but I found that often, what I saw and what other people saw were quite different. So began naming things by number, to avoid inadvertently biasing another person's viewing experience by imposing my own. You can find No. 414 here: https://jon-woodhams.pixels.com/featured/no-414-jon-woodhams.html

I love working with whorls and spirals. So much intrinsic energy in them, like tightly wound springs. Here's "Composition Oraculaire," a recent-ish work from me, with that tightly wound energy and lots of color. Available in print and other forms here: https://jon-woodhams.pixels.com/featured/composition-oraculaire-jon-woodhams.html.

An abstract artwork depicted on a wall: Swirls of vibrant, electric cerulean, azure, and cobalt blues culminate in an unblinking golden oracular eye in this abstract work from Jon Woodhams.

I have a friend in the neighborhood who turned 99 today. I’ve known him since I moved in 17 years ago. In fact, he was the first person to befriend me.

I had some flowers sent over for his birthday, and I just got back from visiting with him.

He’s an abstract expressionist painter. Some of his work is quite good. Take a look. 😊

New releases on have been comparably sparse recently, which gave me the time to look at some of them before they got lost in a flood of new ones — even though I spent way less time on it than usual (and than I would have liked to, but that's life).

I didn't find the time to write about them, though, but at least put my favourite iterations into a deca gallery (a pity they don't (yet?) support base chain).

I just released a new video piece. I called it INK because there's a lot of ink in the video and "Ink" looks so small. Sounds composed with Csound using a python script I wrote to analyze the individual frames of the video. I hope you like it!

which started from the working title project of "thermonuclear cassette" has been something I've been obsessing over off and on for the last two plus weeks and I've rebuilt and re-obliterated it several times. I actually released a version of this as part of the series (number 46) last week, but I'm still not happy with it.
