Mass adoption of clean energy requires massive energy storage, and we’re getting closer! 👇🏼
Thanks to a MIT spin-off company, we have thermal ceramic bricks capable of storing heat for DAYS 👀.
These ceramic bricks can store heat — at temperatures up to 1800 degrees Celsius — for DAYS that can then be used to convert the energy back to electricity when needed.
In the near future a mass of people are going to die in a city from the heat, and the headlines will say that "it wouldn't have been so bad except the power went out"
Heat is going to take down power systems. The power systems that could protect us from an event, will be harmed by the event.
618 people in Canada, in the mountains, in the forest, died of a #climate heat event, on the floors of their homes, on their beds. No flames. Just a days heat.
The power stayed on, it would have been worse
Hey #biketooter,
The city of #Wilmington#Delaware is considering capping a portion of #I95 that runs downtown. A friend with connections might be able to get #DelDOT’s attention to add in their analysis the #removal of that portion of the highway, similar to Minneapolis, Rochester, Dallas etc.
Does anyone know of transportation groups in the Wilmington community or other cities who’d be able to help us in that conversation? #HighwayRemoval#LivableCities#TheWarOnCars#climate @TheWarOnCars

Exciting! This is the next level of #solar biodiversified #agrivoltiacs farms: solar panels spaced among agricultural crops & planted with plant species that increase biodiversity. 👏
The parcel of land will have a 54 MW agrivoltiacs facility that will:
— host #wildflowers species
— provide as a wild animal shelter
— feature amphibian ponds, #bird baths, nesting boxes, & breeding places to protect endangered Lesser kestrel #birds

While recent reports have stated that more than half the world's largest lakes, including lakes in the Tibetan plateau, are drying up, a paper published in Nature Geoscience today (May 27) suggests that, by the end of this century, land-locked lakes on the Tibetan Plateau are set to increase exponentially, resulting in major land loss and related economic, environmental and climatic impacts
