There has long been an reluctance in #ComicBooks and #superhero media to mention political topics. Other than #FrankMiller's original #DarkKnight stories, political stances were verboten, back to a #JFK cameo in 1963.
But instead of being viewed as an endorsement of liberal democrat policies by Big Blue, it incorrectly established #Superman as a conformist & establishmentarian.
And as #fascism has taken over establishment #GOP politics, he is now silenced by "bipartisanship."
I read Girl Haven, a graphic novel by Lilah Sturges on my plane flight and oh gawd the feels. I wish teenage me had been able to read this. I took my daughter to my local comic book store and she had a blast. There were a ton of free all ages comics plus they had some awesome sales and I let her pick out some books.
When I first signed up in November, I had multiple groups I would love to have joined. I enjoy #genealogy, #politics, #news, #writing and #publishing, #ComicBooks and #superheroes, and so on. I eventually threw my hands up and just went to mstdn.party, but with no more insight than by throwing darts at a dart board. I've since migrated here to the Universeodon instance.
At the time, signing up did make it sound like you needed to choose only one aspect of your personality. It was a big stumbling block to me, and kept me from signing up for a few days of deciding what to do.
