Ok, I gotta say, #Portal2 is so well designed. The way it starts is disorienting enough that I get into a “gotta figure out what’s going on” mode w/out being nauseating.
The challenges have an oddly soothing (bordering on addicting) effect on my #ActuallyAutistic brain. Hard to explain, but damn, well done, Valve! #gaming
Started working on a new little MagicaCSG hard-surface modeling project.
One of the great things of working with MagicaCSG is that every element is non-destructive, so I can adjust the shapes, creases, colors et cetera at any time.
It's a mid-quel taking place between the two #Portal games. It introduces a couple new mechanics for puzzles, most of which were fun to toy around with.
There's a a few cool scripted "Valve moments" too, which is neat for a mod. The writing has its good and bad moments, a bunch of jokes felt a little forced, but I liked a lot of the little character moments with the second core you meet.
Hi! I’m daniel, aka dpadular, and I’m here to post about video games with y’all.
I’ve been playing since the original NES days, but really fell in love with video games when I first encountered the original #mortalkombat in the arcade.
I’m a bit of a generalist, and my recent games have been #portal2, #doom2016, #thestickoftruth, and replaying #myst and #riven for the first time in 20 years. I’m currently working my way through #prey2017 for the first time and really digging it
So in our last session of #Portal2 coop, we managed to sequence break the final puzzle in two different ways haha.
After accidentally using a rotating floor panel to launch one of us up into the next room prematurely, my friend absentmindedly used his source engine air control muscle memory to boost his momentum, launching him straight into the exit door.
Unfortunately we still needed to fetch a cube to open it, but finding these little exploits was fun :cat_sip:.
Played this on my Steam Deck earlier, and it was so good that I had to play it again in the dark! It's actually a bonus map in a Portal 2 Horror series. Highly recommended!
