Heute vor 40 Jahren spielten Siouxsie and the Banshees unter Mitwirkung von Robert Smith (The Cure) an der Gitarre das erste von zwei Konzerten in der Royal Albert Hall in London, aus denen das Live-Album "Nocturne" entstand.
Hier sind exemplarisch zwei meiner Lieblingslieder von Siouxsie and the Banshees am Stück:
Siouxsie & The Banshees — Sin In My Heart, Painted Bird (Live) 1983 - Invidious
I always thought Robert Smith, when he was in Siouxsie playing guitar [on the 1983's Nocturne live video], was the coolest as he just stood there and let the music flood out.
That anti showmanship was perfect so I never really understood why people began to use #Shoegaze as a negative term.
I think if we didn't stand there looking at what pedal was about to go on and off we'd have been shite.
I am glad we were static and concentrated on playing well.
being a fan of Japanese shoegaze is frustrating because there's no real news source, you never know if a band that put out an incredible album in 2018 is still together unless they drop a new track...which is what happened today with Plant Cell, one of my favorites
there's a special feeling when you check youtube for a band you love and the parade of 'uploaded 8 years ago' ends in one that says 'uploaded today' #shoegaze #ShoegazeSaturday
I had never listened to Ulrich Schnauss’s “No Further Ahead Than Today” from 2016, or its ~2020 rework, “No Further Ahead Than Tomorrow” until this afternoon. Occasionally formulaic at points, but it felt like one of Schnauss’s more utopian releases. Beautiful. #Shoegaze#Electronica#Music
