I'm old enough to remember #Zionists getting Jeremy Corbyn removed as leader of UK Labour for daring to call out Israel's #WarCrimes I guess #Israel won't have to worry about #Starmer getting in the way of their #genocide if he becomes the next #UK PM. #UKPol
Labour activists in Jeremy Corbyn’s constituency have accused the national party of an “egregiously undemocratic selection process” after it chose a candidate without consulting the local branch.
Photo titled Praful Nargund founded a chain of IVF clinics with his mother, Geeta. He was anointed without even meeting the local Labour branch, activists said.
@Wen I'm increasingly worried about the prospect of a disUK #Labour government led by #Starmer and his cabal. He's totally abandoned the left.
My hope is that the majority of voters in #Scotland continue to support the #SNP who have by and large been a leftwing force for good in this country. I fear that significant Labour GE gains here would be catastrophic for devolution and for Scotland in general.
Whatever your views on independence, vote for your country, not England.
“Labour has said there will be no rises in income tax or National Insurance if it wins the general election - but some spending cuts have not been ruled out”
…The UK has be ransacked, looted & vandalised by the tories for the last 14 years
@JorisBohnsonPM apparently #reeves and #starmer have discovered a big red button in the treasury somewhere that will immediately deliver growth - with mo investment required
That growth will apparently fund everything good and not trickle upwards to private health providers, landlords and shareholders - despite there being no changes in tax or utility ownership or funding for the #NHS
Its absolute bollox of course,
but, hey, at least they're not wearing blue rosettes /s
@pauloldhamsnp ok, well i guess they are not totally tone deaf?
I know #Starmer wants to use the word "change" endlessly till it loses all meaning, but will those pics come back to haunt him like an MP giving an interview in front of an exit sign?
"You’ve eaten eggs that were harder than this pair’s careers. Rather than wear out their Italian shoe leather trudging between doorsteps, they have been primped and counselled and focus-grouped into place. And, as every bad-tempered interview suggests, it has left them without killer political instincts."

Neither of them believe in anything (with the exception of power for its own sake) but are strangely influential in their own parties. It is difficult to see them having come into politics with any interest in serving either their constituents or the country. Other politicians such as #Sturgeon can be, rightly, be criticised but they have their countries interests at heart.
@OliverNoble I make no assumptions. I explained in the post that it’s my experience.
As for Natalie Elphick. It was a calculated stab in the back for Sunak. It’s naive to think she is a reflection of where Labour stands or will stand on the political spectrum. She will need to prove herself as a Labour MP - if she’s reelected.
Labour has an election to win. #starmer has played a blinder, but there are no guarantees. Hence my original post.
@TallVenti
I agree about independents - mixed bunch, due diligece required
As for #NatalieElphicke , I dont want to vote for a party where nasty racist #tories are welcome but leftwingers and those objecting to genocide are vilified
You may consider it a "blinder" , I consider a stupid, childish prank and a sign that #Starmer is an unprincipled opportunist with no moral compass
Keir Starmer standing in front of a band of Labour supporters brandishing placards of the Union Jack emblazoned with the word “Change”, does not represent change for Scotland and its people.

In 1997, there were clear priorities which needed to be tackled. The state of the #NHS, our crumbling schools & the UK's outdated infrastructure. Renationalisation took a back seat.
HOWEVER, #Starmer's #Labour are creating #GBEnergy as a way of righting these wrongs, but he can't do it all in his first parliament. He has to be pragmatic & prioritise the most urgent needs first, & hopefully get around to our public services after.
#Brexit is a different matter. As I explained yesterday, Jeremy Corbyn is a lifelong Eurosceptic, hence why he was nowhere to be seen until the final two weeks of the Remain campaign. Even then he only appeared under pressure because he was the leader of an 80% Remain party.
#Starmer's detractors blame #Labour's 2019 election dry bumming on him for pushing for a confirmatory referendum. Corbyn was dead set against it, but only yielded through pressure.
There's several reasons why this could happen, as with a recent case in #Liverpool, where the proposed candidate was an anti #Starmer#Corbynista throwback to the #Militant 80s.
The local CLP were at war with each other, & almost fell apart until the PLP stepped in. The fella was a radical #Socialist extremist, who was better suited to #Momentum, the #NIP or #Galloway's Workers Party.

Unless you've got a crystal ball, how do you know this will happen?
After 14 years of #Tory failure, sleaze & economic mismanagement that brought us #Brexit a #CostOfLivingCrisis & record #Inflation, are you seriously saying a new #Labour government can reverse this damage on day one, but won't because #Starmer is no different to the #Tories? Really?
The best way to look at #GE2024 is; we're you better off in 2010 under #Labour, or are you better off in the Tory's 2024?
The #UK gave it's view on your presumed vision in 2019. #Labour suffered the heaviest general election dry bumming in political history, & you want ANOTHER rerun of that debacle?
