The Outpost in Pond Eddy, NY - we stopped for lunch, fabulous food and service. A warm October day under a blue sky. The vibrant red umbrellas caught my eye. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
Someone appears to have issued #umbrellas for #sun protection there in #SouthKorea at the #heatwave striken World Scout Jamboree. Not a bad idea. Spot check and nearly every group walking has umbrellas.
You know what works really well in a rainstorm? Oil painted paper #umbrellas. The oil on the surface stops water from getting through, and the wooden supports prevent the umbrella from bending inside out in a big wind (a big bonus IMHO). Plus, no #plastic parts and more environmentally friendly. The only issue is they don't fold up and fit into a small bag.
Lots of designs out there. Decorative too. Just make sure the whole top surface is painted. If your city has a Chinatown, you can usually find them there. #environment#rain#weather#umbrella
