FYI - I worked on 2 different #RealityTV shows in #Canada & after those lived work experiences - told everyone I could - don't agree to go on these shows. It's almost all scripted, not reality. Crews are forced to put pressure on voluntary participants - who rarely know WTF they're signing up for & producers exploit naivety. Don't chase easy fame/easy money - they both come at high personal costs. Don't agree to be traumatized on TV, for money. You'll regret it.

Used to work in a pretty unique role, of which a NZ TV show was made, and continues to be made.

Generally I'd try and avoid being filmed, but on occasion there'd be no-one else around. As it was, nothing noteworthy ever happened when I was filmed, so I fortunately never featured.

If crazy shite did go down, it would inevitably be when the cameraman wasn't in (hey this is Ōtautahi, NZ, we don't need anything more than one cameraman to get all the action).

But yeah Reality TV is cheap, and nasty. Not my cup of tea.

Hell yeah - quite happy to no longer be in that role, used bugger all of my brain, to such an extent I didn't suffer imposter syndrome.

As an aside, the older child has a pathological hate of all things AI. This has meant she's working on switching over to Linux - as long as Steam works. Gotta keep gaming!

When I heard the news yesterday, I was initially suspicious, but the cause is less suss than most - reminded me of Jim Henson's death (albeit that was Strep based TSS), not MRSA.

Best White People Telepathy (WPT) I heard someone tell me. Put out bins in the apartment he lived in. First to do so.

So not only did everyone else in the apartment follow and put the red (rubbish) bins out, but the whole apartment got it wrong. Was yellow (recycling) week.

WPT is flawless, recommend 100% to follow, would do again.

The robin in my garden was outraged - OUTRAGED - at having to eat on the floor like the common wood pigeons.

I interpreted his chattering as a rather indignant query as to the location of his usual perch. Not sure he fully took on board my explanation that cleaning was required.

It has now been returned, but I fear the indignity of eating scraps from the floor remains.
