bc that would be an awesomely useful resource when picking a new community to join/migrate to

@kissane @LLS For the servers that don't publish block lists, would it be feasible to ping them from one account each from a list of known servers to at least build a partial connection web?

Realistically tho? My immediate concern is someone loudly asserting that compiling this info or publishing any confirmation of what servers do or don't federate with each other constitutes a "privacy violation" and trying to get the whole project shut down on those grounds.

I never missed smoking as much as i do now that i can't smoke.

I went from only smoking like 3 times a year with friends to not having touched it since before i got this current job and bruh... i only miss when i can't have it.

2000 rap opera concept album. I'm generally not big on rap, but between catchy beats and some very unconventional (and nerdy) subject matters, this album is definitely an exception for me. The first song alone mentions Neuromancer, Ghost in the Shell and The Matrix. Wonderful stuff.

@LadyMarth01 This album was formative for me. I'm a big rap fan, of all types, and Del delivery and subject matter felt like opening a door to another world. Intricate rappers could also be nerds.

It wasn't better than Jadakiss or Cam'ron or Outkast, but it was different.

From there i found a whole new subgenre of rap. It altered, broadened my tastes.

The followup lacks most of the magic this one had but this one was special.

Looking through my feed, certain people are really angry that, even though they blocked Threads already, Threads still uses ActivityPub.

Logically, blocking should be enough. They even created a Fedipact. Problem solved, right?

But I think what really bothers them is that Threads is nevertheless using ActivityPub.

Look, in my ideal world everyone would be operating their own Fediverse servers. That’s exactly what I’m doing with atomicpoet.org. But I’m an edge case right now.

If you want to kill Meta, then people who use Meta’s services must be aware of the Fediverse. Right now, most of them know nothing about it. Those who do know about it dismiss it as geekery.

So how are we planning to bring more people to the Fediverse? Do you even want more people or would you rather keep this place an exclusive club?

The notion that the Fediverse is an exclusive club is an illusion. We should have learned that lesson during the , but it looks like we’ll learn that lesson yet again.

@BigAngBlack I know Mastodon isn't the entire Fediverse and that ActivityPub isn't just Mastodon but there's such a pervasive hostility here to anything too mainstream or anything intended to make money that I'm unsurprised at the lack of crossover between ActivityPub and OnlyFans type content producers.

But shiiiiiiit, maybe I'm myopic and the interest is there and I'm just talking outta my ass

Greatsword/Motivity builds forever. Unlike games where i insist on running a Str+ Dex = Quality build with a Curved Greatsword, here I'm running pure Str(Motivity) and bringing the pain and stagger

@tuckerm I'm playing through it on Xbox PC Gamepass

It pulls a lot of the tricks (enemy attack patterns, marking progress through shortcuts, drop all currency on death, currency is used to buy level ups) i will say that i haven't died as often as I'd expected to so the difficulty level is not very high (for me)

It feels like Bloodborne instead of Dark Souls/Elden Ring, so expect to focus on some kind of melee build with optional reliance on magic or ranged options
