Saw a video with advice for TTRPG GMs, and one of the pieces of advice was, Always ask the player what they're doing, not the character...

...and I'm like, nope!

Unless it's absolutely necessary, I always refer to the player by their character name during the session. Juggling two names is hard on me, and confusing to the players.

One name as much as possible, please.

Also, online, the player “name” name might well be “chickenknight349” .😂

I'm on a train and sitting directly across from @KevBot and I just had an entire conversation with him where he didn't even know I was talking because we're both wearing masks and I didn't realize he had earbuds in.

The good news is that I was able to say everything I needed to say and that's all that matters because I'm perfectly content with being my own audience.
