The hardest thing on social networks (for mostly men) seems to be to not make everything about you.
I see so many replies under my toots by people who want to derail the topic to something that is about them. I call that #ThreadJacking and I kindly ask you to not do that.
@jwildeboer Internet is so different, because basically all the world is listening.
And what do people do in a mixed crowd, where there could be anyone? They try to identify who their friends are.
So we pretend to be discussing matters and issues but what is actually happening is our limbic system kicking in, and we instead signal our group identity at almost every turn.
@ManyRoads So it seems like it’s a lot of talk for politicians to clean their images and appearing tough.
And a second batch of talk is with the ”escalation” vatniks. Boosting their followings and helping Putin’s party line so easily goes hand-in-hand, you’d think there might be a connection.
Yet, the limits were merely loosened a little. No deep strikes to where it matters with ATACMS.
It helps, but Ukraine still fighting with one arm tied behind their back. 😰
It really is counterproductive for western politicians to proclaim in a loud voice that restrictions to hit Russia have been lifted, while plenty still stand.
The few voices I still hear from within Russia tend to shift the blame and mock Ukraine for lack of ability instead.
You see how that could play into Putin’s hands, don’t you?
Why can’t the western politicians play this game? 🤔
Congrats America, you convicted #trump and have shown there’s still #ruleoflaw in place: The politically affluent aren’t excepted from having to follow the same laws as everyone else.
But! Don’t get comfortable now! This is only the beginning!
#MAGA by and large doesn’t seem to subscribe to the principle of rule of law, and there will be plenty of popular support to overturn the ruling coming your way next.
Were you prepared fo winning this, America? Can you hold back the backlash?
MAGA people: You just opened Pandora's Box. This means all presidents can be convicted of crimes. Republicans or Democrats. Bet you didn't consider that, did you?
Reasonable people: Yes idiots, that's the fucking point.
@lowqualityfacts It’s called ”The Rule Of Law” and it was a revolutionary change that the lords would be subject to the same laws as the peasants.. In previous centuries! 🙂
The Rule Of Law often is what makes the difference between true democracies and strongman states playing democracy.
And i’m not even going to go into Wilhoit’s Law of conservatism, because there are clearly still people who foolishly think something beyond play democracy could exist without the Rule Of Law.
@lari RKP elättelee kuvitelmia että se ei lähtisi mukaan hallitukseen joka tekee perussuomalaista politiikkaa. Mutta sitähän ne siellä on kiltisti tehneet. Aika hyvin itsekusetettu!
