I had a pretty rough day and contemplated just giving up on @pixelfed because it seems like I can’t catch a break

But after calming down, I started to remember all the big milestones and the people who believe in our platform and in me

I’m not ready to give up, in fact this was the kick in the ass I needed to get my priorities straight and focus on shipping the app ASAP and also Groups

I’m a few months behind on my NLnet Groups milestone and need the money so that’s my focus after the app

    I'm struggling to see an acquisition path for Humane; what unique technology would a potential acquirer be picking up? The hand projector? Software wise any AI features they've demonstrated so far (even if working as advertised) are going to be rapidly outstripped by newer, better models. A talent acquisition? They certainly have some beautiful industrial design, but you don't really need to buy the entire company if you want to poach that. Brand? 😅

    @stroughtonsmith To be honest I just don’t see a wearable pin device as having a future. If “wearables” are going to be a thing I think the watch is the most likely champion, followed by AR glasses when the tech matures.

    @jsrailton Hopefully the start of that will be all the YouTube channels refusing sponsorship. Remember the kerfuffle with Established Titles? Since then I’ve not seen a single sponsor from them, and hopefully something similar will happen with Better Help.

    It might not put them under but hopefully it will put a dent in their bottom line and make them think twice before doing something like this again.

    @viticci @johnvoorhees I wish there was an shortcut actions to start a Check In, and ideally you could set the destination as part of that action.

    I’ve find that changing the destination from within iMessages to be clunky, but the article makes it seem like it can be done from the maps app… is this the case or am I just misunderstanding the way it’s phrased, and you’re talking about the little maps screen you get with messages?

    Apple's marketing image for Roadside Assistance via satellite uses a Saab as the broken down car.

    My first car was a Saab, so I can confirm that this is an accurate choice by Apple.

    One tricky design thing I've found with medium-sized interactive widgets is choosing button placement. The sides feel better to me, but the asymmetry of that makes me slightly unsure

    Yet another post saying "all browsers are Chrome, we must fight the patriarchy!" and I.... just... can't. It so misunderstands, well, software really that I don't know where to begin.

    For what it's worth, I'm a big supporter of as many rendering engines as possible. I certainly don't want "Google to win". I'm just saying that a browser using Blink is NOT a Google zombie.
