Nerd. Mostly runs around and try to shoot people in the head (in VR of course, jeez) and have an unhealthy number of hours in Dark Souls.

I watch a lot of movies and TV-series- SciFi being the favourite- whether it's live-action or animated and listen to rock and roll and metal.

I work in IT as a storage/virtualization administrator and there's a green chameleon living in my heart.

Where do we go from here? The net is vast and infinite.

@gamingonlinux Steam Deck as others previously have stated and as a storage/virtualization admin I'd also like to mention infrastructure solutions like OpenStack and Ceph helping us all keep up with the ever increasing needs of computing and volume 💪

Guys, it's happening... I think I'm officially getting older.. 🫠

Gone are the nights of 24/7 #gaming parties fueled with Monster and Red Bull (though I can definitely still pound them during late night #coding binges 🤗), and have given way to regularly having my #trading app open to watch my #stock investments and snag positions throughout the day/week...

Nowadays, I somehow seem to get off on #analytics data and stock charts... 🙈🙈

I finally got myself a 6.5 kernel, and as expected, now works. In one instance Andreja lost her hair but I'm not sure if that's a Proton issue or a game bug because I can't reproduce it (that's good).

However! Loading is a lot slower on Linux and performance is quite bad. Where I'm having 70fps on Windows I'm getting 40fps on Linux.

I do not recommend playing Starfield on Linux just yet, unless you absolutely must avoid Windows at all costs.

@ampersandrew @darth Granted the games I play are often a couple of years old, patched and stable but at least in my experience a 40% drop in performance is quite an exaggeration. I'll admit though that I've never really benchmarked between the two operating systems since my 5600X, RX 6700 XT and 16 GB of RAM pushes the games I've tried in 1440p High or Ultra at a stable 60 FPS and that's enough for me.

@raptor85 @darth I had to do raise the ulimit a while back in OpenSUSE, I think it was 15.0 or 15.1 maybe but then they raised the default and the effect of having the ulimit too low is games not starting at all as opposed to bad performance.

@arstechnica No LineageOS means a no for me. Still using the (IMO) best Pixel, the taimen (2 XL). They've just gone downhill ever since.

There is a rumor that Valve is working on a similar device such as Meta Quest, but with OS on it. I am not holding my breath, but I kind of wish it would be true. The Quest doesn't work on at all.

@gmr_leon I just use my handle to keep the scrapers and whatnot from collecting and tracking my presence online but I use the same handle everywhere and have no issues sharing it. They are the same persona regardless (me 😄 )

Even though I absolutely love , sometimes I get tired of encountering the same issues over and over again, and of the "it's 99% there" situation.

Let me know if you agree with these issues or not, and if you have others that personally bother you.
