Sometimes, it happens that a manager puts their reports to a task and then, for whatever reason, has to take them off it and it never comes to fruition, even though they've already put lots of valuable time and qualified effort into it. Sometimes this is the right thing to do for the good of the organisation, as continuing for its own sake would be living the sunk cost fallacy.

Mitte der 1980er wollte ich eine techn. Ausbildung machen, hatte aber keine Chance, weil . In den 1990ern habe ich ein techn. Studium begonnen. Die Professoren und Kommilitonen? Alle männlich! War keine leichte Zeit, weil Frau. Mitte der 1990 habe ich in der Automobilbranche gearbeitet und war wieder allein unter Männern. Auch heute sitze ich in geschäftl. At first when I used all the time I thought was complicated.

Now since I use Linux all the time I can't figure out how people use Windows productively.

Like how do you manage to get around all these shortcomings? The propietary formats and impossibility to modify the data by yourself? The missing automation in most of your tasks? All the cash-grabbing apps that want you to pay for each and every feature?

It's like Windows and Linux users life completely different (work)lives.

Warum Firmen inzwischen immer weniger mögen, obwohl es keine Produktivitätsverluste gibt:

  • Ungenutzte teure Immobilien.
  • Illusion, man könne anwesende Mitarbeitende besser kontrollieren.
  • Dogma, der Job müsse das Leben der Mitarbeitenden dominieren.

leider gab es bei der letzten Critical Mass in ein Missverständnis mit einem RTW im Einsatz und der uns begleitenden .

So wie es für uns aussah, wurde ein (der mit Sonder- und unterwegs war) von einem uns sichernden Polizisten zurückgeschickt. Und musste einen Umweg fahren.

Dies ist nicht notwendig! Egal wie groß die Gruppe Radfahrer*innen ist, IHR KÖNNT IMMER DURCH!

Was war passiert?

Wir standen zur Trauerminute an dem neuen in (B4 in Höhe der A23, Fahrbahn Richtung Süden / Innenstadt). Der RTW fuhr ebenfalls in südlicher Richtung, auf Grund des Staus und der hinter uns fuhr er auf der leeren Gegenfahrbahn.

Hinter der Überfahrt A23/A7 war diese Richtungsfahrbahn dann durch Polizei / in der Gegenrichtung blockiert. Ein Wechsel auf unsere Seite wäre auf der Kreuzung B4/A23/A7 problemlos möglich gewesen.

Wir hatten im vorderen Bereich bereits vorausschauend eine Gasse organisiert, als wir sahen, wie der RTW weggeschickt wurde.

Was könnt ihr tun?

Ganz einfach, fahrt so wie ihr es bei Fahrten nach §38 gewohnt seid, zeigt uns deutlich eure Absicht - wir machen gerne Platz.

Nutzt gerne die Gegenfahrbahn, wenn es schneller geht, aber wenn die Spur durch KFZ blockiert ist, kommt zu uns rüber.

Was tun wir?

Sobald wir erkennen, dass ihr durch wollt, machen wir Platz. Und nicht nur das, wir geben es durch rufen nach vorne weiter, so dass sich (auch ohne Horn oder direkte Sicht) die Gasse auf kompletter Länge nahezu zeitgleich bilden kann.

Wir sind Radfahrer*innen, keine KFZ. Wir können uns auch quer bewegen, auf Fußweg und Seitenstreifen ausweichen und die Gasse somit viel schneller bilden als .

Einige von uns waren tief betroffen, dass wir unfreiwillig einen blockiert haben. Jeder von uns weiß, dass wir jederzeit auf euch angewiesen sein könnten.

, 24 Feb 1968, Jocelyn Bell Burnell - along with her male supervisor and three other men - published a paper confirming the discovery of pulsars. She had built the array, picked up the signal and argued it was not an anomaly. Hewish received the Nobel prize for it in 1974: Bell Burnell did not.

In 2018 Bell Burnell received a £3m prize for her work. She's using it to set up a foundation to improve the diversity in STEM.
