Even if there was a sign that it was a screenshot, it would help - I've seen people draw a red line through screenshots to indicate it's not a live display, for example.

@GottaLaff my first thought was that it sounds like (in the text, which is hard) he's a soft parent using weasel words like "might have to consider" with a petulant child.
I hope he really is able to follow through, but the idea of having to spend all day Wednesday or over a weekend in a Riker's dorm amuses me.

Mounted a WebDAV folder from a storage host, thinking "Hey, I can just copy my Google Photos from the Takeout archives into the folder that way."
I rarely work with DAV but assumed that it would let me know if it dropped the remote connection.
Nope. Lost the connection only a couple GB in but nothing TELLS me. It just carries on copying spontaneously to local path, and I start getting alerts that my root filesystem is filling up.
@olav it felt like my machine was so proud of itself, carrying on happily with writing like there was never a mounted filesystem there.

Great to learn of a growing African presence on the fediverse. For the first time, I came across an Algeria themed 🇩🇿 instance, perhaps the first instance set up for and by an African community here (there could be others that I'm not aware of).
The instance is dz.social (Dz, short for the country's local name "Dzayer" and .dz is the country's internet domain code.
It's a start. Happy to see a Maghreb presence here. P.S Algerians are amazing people to befriend.
