#FoxNews’s #HarrisFaulkner hosted a panel on Mon afternoon to discuss a #SNL sketch mocking #POTUS#Biden. In short order…things went in a different direction.
Faulkner turned to #JonathanKott, fmr aide to Sen #JoeManchin….
“I will say this,” Kott offered. “I would rather have a president who maybe has a stutter once in a while than one who spews #ConspiracyTheory, #racist nonsense & has dinner w/ #Nazis.”
Tammy Bruce, a #conservative radio host, took issue w/that statement.
…If Bruce’s main source of #news is #RightWing media like #FoxNews, though, she might never have heard about that dinner. In November & the first half of December of 2022, the incident was mentioned in 89 segments on #CNN & more than twice that number on #MSNBC. On #Fox, though? It was only mentioned seven times, total.
Back of Bourke on what the New York Times is ALWAYS about when it comes to Biden, the Democrats, the left — and is about all over again with its latest poll of 980 people out of a population of 161.42 million, 30% of whom said they get their news from Fox:
"Sowing doubt. Always sowing doubt."
Yes. That sums it up. Sowing doubt. Undermining. Attacking. Trying in every way possible to move the needle to the right.
This nonsense has been debunked since two seconds after the delusional far-right came up with it. #Furries, which is what they obviously thought they were saying, don’t use litter boxes. They’re also adults. Let me be crystal clear; Kids who think they're animal characters, and demand #litterboxes in school bathrooms are not a thing. They've never been a thing. This is something that was wholly invented by and for truly stupid #FoxNews people. It's not real.
In the hours after the Weiss indictment, there was scant coverage of the development on Fox News. Most notably, Hannity didn’t bother to mention to his loyal audience that the narrative he had been tirelessly peddling to them had fallen apart. Instead, like the rest of the right-wing network’s dishonest stable of prime time talk hosts, he ignored the story.
@jeffjarvis Implicit in that page is another "news problem."
I just read that, without an ad blocker, and it was quite a slog, amplified by the somewhat hidden "read more" button.
The painful thing is that this isn't really working for anybody. The website is trying to put as many ad impressions in front of me as possible, but I'm really sure I didn't see any of them. I scrolled past looking for paragraphs of text.
At some point advertisers are going to stop paying for empty "impressions."
"What they are doing now repeats their playbook from 2018, when late in the fall they sparked an uproar over a 'caravan' heading toward the border. With little to excite their voters, the story dominated the airwaves late in that election. …
Of course the caravan coverage disappeared the day after the election ended. Mission accomplished."
:Just look at exit polls out of Iowa that found 40% of Iowa Republican caucusgoers were most concerned with the southern border (versus only 30% for the economy.) This is an absurd notion considering the southern border is nowhere near Iowa."
A scientific study just published in a medical journal reports that those who took the bogus Covid "cure" touted by Donald Trump and Fox News, hydroxychloroquinine, had an 11% increase in mortality rates. The study tracks some 19,000 deaths in hospitalized patients to the use of the snake-oil horse dewormer medicine.
I just cancelled #DirecTV because they don't offer any package that's free of #FoxNews. They offered to block that channel so I won't see it, but they still will send #CarrierFees just for making it available. Not good enough.
I told them I won't even click a #FoxNews link because I don't want it to get even a fraction of a penny of ad revenue from my click.
I said that if ever they offer a package completely free of #FoxNews, that I'll reconsider.
