@jynersolives I like it here on #Mastodon the best. Bluesky is full of influencers so my feed is full of their posts and their interactions amongst themselves. Also lots of half conversations because of the way they show posts. I don’t feel I have much fulfilling engagements there.
@jynersolives@chris I would say that Mastodon is the top social network for me, since I’ve discovered a lot of cool stuff and people here. But I also use Bluesky, Threads and IG since most of the people I used to follow on Twitter are on one or more of those. Killed my Twitter account months ago. Also tried Spoutible and Post but didn’t find them to my liking.
@jynersolives my answer to an earlier version of this:
(For context I was on twitter for about 3 years, on Mastodon for 1, haven’t tried bluesky or threads)
@jynersolives no longer have Twitter and never signed up for BS. But I get far more diverse engagement here, with nearly the same number of followers as I had on Twitter. And this is with just two or three other people in my local area who have come over. There is no doubt in my mind that if Mastodon/Fedi had the same uptake locally as Twitter, I would probably have to start filtering 😆
@jynersolives Twitter, I have a well-curated timeline and it's got the most diverse kinds of accounts and contents, official accounts, artists, news, etc, from all over the world, in all kind of languages and it's got a well working translation feature.
Tumblr is nice, too, because it's crazy, but it gets too American sometimes.
Discord is a little like forums back in the day, but often very quiet, and very American at times, too.
Haven't tried BlueSky yet.
@jynersolives I like the FediVerse too, this Mastodon account is my main one, but I'm keeping a close eye on Firefish, but the app compatibility is not there yet.
Threads has been ok to follow a few Brazilian politicians and other official accounts. I'm waiting for it to federate so I can delete my account there and follow those accounts from Mastodon.
BlueSky is always buggy for me... my timeline goes blank. Not that I have many friends there.
@jynersolives BlueSky will not federate with Mastodon (and FediVerse). It'll use a different protocol. But who knows? Maybe there will be a "bridge" between them
