Hmm… I can only suggest the service realfavicongenerator.net (free) and then manually edit the site.manifest file to point to the correct files, and store the images at the root.

It's a one-time setup, unless the logo changes. Or, when you upgrade the software, it somehow replaced some of the files.

@alan Yep, it's not possible to change the Favicon on Masto.host.

The Favicon is hardcoded and needs to be compiled with every update.

Easier said than done. You need quite a collection of static logo files in specific sizes and formats to make Google happy. Else you can't install.

At least we provide your custom brand name as the app title, but what you're asking is going to require more work - even for an unbranded platform like the streams repository. We had to provide fallbacks for all the PWA icon sizes and formats - the only place in the code where we do so.
