It's not even that the GOP could field a 'better' candidate than Trump. It's that the backers of a Trump Presidency and planners of the fascistization of the US will attempt to populate the executive branch with their planned advisors and henchman no matter which Republican were to win.
They just think they have the best chance at getting Trump over that line.

Government doesn't need to tell you [that you can't own slaves]. They don't need to tell you what [slaves] can and can't [own]. They don't need to be a part of your [slave owning] life. They need to make sure that you have freedom [to own slaves].”
@GottaLaff the Confederate constitution was a direct copy of the U.S. constitution except for two main points: the permanent establishment of slavery and a 6 year presidential term. We didn't go to war over term limits.
@GottaLaff I lived very close to SC when Haley was governor. She had a very bright moment after the racist slaughter at AME baptist church. Haley is a situational flip-flopper who cannot be trusted.

She has opposed gay marriage and abortion but also spoke out against human rights violations in Syria or Chechnya. Can we really not agree that she's the much better option than a quasi-fascist wannabe dicator such as #Trump?
