@RickiTarr My mother told me, when I was in my teens, and again in my 20s in front of my sister-in-law that she was disappointed that I was a girl because girls are so crazy. Her mother had her at the age of 52, and handed the baby off to mom's oldest sister who was 15 or so...my maternal grandmother lost at least 5 or six other babies who didn't survive infancy. She must have been quite fertile and most likely grieved for the lost infants.
@RickiTarr I hadn't done a fraction of what I dreamed, I hadn't even begun, and they all promised me I still could, but the land was sliding into the sea and I was the only one who could see it--they smiled all the way down, oblivious of the rising water.
