I hope there is a place for everyone here. Communication shoul have no borders, otherwise the fediverse have failed. We have the option to block people and instances on a per user level. That should be used, but never enforced by someone else onto you. (Except on illegal activities of course)
@fabiscafe I don’t ignore your opinion, I disagree with it. Your position leads to capitalist scum like Zuckerberg exploiting everyone they can, and I’ll have no part of it. I left Facebook to get away from that disgusting man and I don’t want him tolerated in the fediverse.
@andrew@fabiscafe my take is that his moves are to appease regulators, who are coming after him at some point. But Threads is already blocking mentions of PixelFed, so this is absolutely not an equitable relationship.
His long-term goal is probably to disrupt the fediverse to whatever extent he can to reduce the competition and harvest as much of that sweet, sweet personal data as he can, as per T&Cs which you, as a fediverse user, are bound by as soon as you interact with Threads.
Metas MO is to buy or destroy, not collaborate.
