I think there's more than nurture. I was 5 when , , , The Man from , Bionic Woman, etc were my thing. The lengths I'd go to not miss Star Trek reruns at that age! Soaps and dramas were made for "stupid people who complicate life for no reason", was my opinion as a little kid. That opinion hasn't changed at all now, at 50 yo. I fall asleep with most human-caused . It doesn't teach me anything new.

Facebook Clickbait Headline: Ancient shipwreck with Orichalcum may prove Atlantis existed!

Me: Um, that’s a copper/zinc alloy. We call that brass. It’s a neet find, very early for brass, but it’s not Atlantis.

Scientists discover hidden landscape "frozen in time" under Antarctic ice for millions of years.

CBS News reports: "This landscape, which is bigger than Belgium, has remained untouched for potentially more than 34 million years, but human-driven global warming could threaten to expose it."

Though hugely admired in his own time, Olaus Rudbeckius has since been notorious for his ridiculous speculations about in ancient Sweden. Here's a runestone where he read the commemorated woman's name, "ikilaif", as "ifurborin", and claimed that this was Old Norse for 'Hyperborean'. :-D
