Lemme get this straight, helped themselves to $80 out of my account every month for several months while I dealt with undiagnosed with no help from them (kinda hard to get treatment when you have to initiate all of the communication and you have raging ADHD). The US FTC sued them and all I get back is $9.70?

Good grief.

OH SNAP, they got sued for selling customer's data TO FACEBOOK. WOW! WHAT A PARAGON OF VIRTUE.

BetterHelp. More like GetShafted.

I can confidently diagnose as sociopaths.

Promised therapy customers privacy...then gave their mental health info to advertisers.

Victims get less than ten bucks each.

Company made billion+ in revenue last year alone.

In a just society with good privacy laws, they'd face existential civil & criminal consequences.

Okay... Now that's absolutely freaky. While I'm watching this video by about corrupt sponsorships that tons of content creators and influencers partner with, especially and , I opened the box for this new graphics card I got from Newegg and inexplicably there were a bunch of "meal plan free trial" vouchers including one... For Hello Fresh 🤯

Say no to union-busting sweatshops. There's no ethical consumption under , but FFS if you're going to call yourself a leftist breadtuber, show SOME restraint over which companies you get paid to shill for.

By all means, seek help for managing your mental health, but maybe pick a provider not under investigation by the FTC for selling patient PII to fucking Facebook of all people.

Oops.
We shared your private info with Meta & Snapchat without your consent (keep in mind, we’re a mental health privider).

But don’t worry, we’ve stopped (all it took was a gov’t agency coming after us).
And we’ll tell Meta to delete it.
Don’t worry. They’ll definitely comply 🤣

Yyyeah... Not a good look for to rag on rightwing websites for using to fleece gullible site viewers... Then immediately follow it with a sponsorship from , which has been exposed as a scam many times for years 🙃

I am absolutely gobsmacked by the journalistic achievement that @mozilla pulled off with their mental health, prayer, and lifestyle app audit.

Highly worth a read if you are like me and live in the orbit of these trendy app-based therapy services.

Thanks for this. As far as I can see Better Help is doing its best to drive private counsellors out of business.

Legal but very definitely not ethical.

Let the people creating those videos and podcasts know that BetterHelp is not to be trusted and that they should not advertise for that service any more.
