I'm already awake. Might be better if I were still sleeping, but damn, it's not a bad awake where I feel run down and anxious and wondering if I'll survive the day, though I expect to be tired when my work shift comes to an end.
But my brain is feeling pretty sharp and good, I may know what that is so.
Ginza has gone back to sleep. Smart girl.
She still never sits on my lap but she has a new trick of jumping up between the back of the chair and my back and she purrs happily there.
Where we used to live for about 20 years, in a very rural town in Tennessee on the western side of the Smokey Mountains between Knoxville and Chattanooga, our town had a stray town goat.
It was part of a pack of goats used to control kudzu but this goat escaped and for years just roamed around. No one could catch it.
The harvest is still coming in, so our harvest sale is still on! Treat yourself to a better night's sleep, a little extra calm during the day, or a soothing salve to ease body pain. Use the code "HARVEST23" for 20% off all our small farm products until the end of the month. (Getting the word out is hard, so boosts are appreciated.) #smallfarm#MilkBarnFarm
It's been a welcome diversion to watch the goat herd chowing down on overgrowth on the steep slope under the I-5 Ship Canal Bridge adjacent to NE 40th Street in Seattle. Check them out from the Burke-Gilman Trail overpass at 6th Avenue NE.
A very happy Rose watches me prepare to unload a trailer full of peanut hay.

life comes full circle
we knew what made us happy
Because it still does!
*As a child animals always brought me joy! I grew up with all of your typical farm buddies. But the some were special. The first thing I did when we got our homestead was find some goats! One of my current babies on the right. Chino.
