Fitting, I think, that my re-play on the SteamDeck saw the completion of the main game this morning. I haven't started on the Burning Shores DLC yet.
Overall, the first 3/4 of the game is pretty stable on the SteamDeck ... until you get to SF. I had 2 or 3 game crashes before then, but at that point the game started crashing so hard it would lock up the SteamDeck and require a reboot. Nothing specific seemed to cause them, just mundane stuff like opening up the map, or scanning a datapoint.
I also didn't spend much time grinding for gear or resources. I didn't just zip from point to point, but nor did I dawdle. Steam says I have 93 hours played, so it feels about average for a casual-but-thorough playthrough of the quests.
@cliffwade Cool. That was my assumption, but thought I'd check. Might lookup a good story explainer because I thought the story was shaping up to be interesting.
@hybridhavoc The story in both games is absolutely AMAZING! I usually don't particularly care for the story in most games. I play to have fun and to enjoy the game itself. But the story here you simply can't ignore in my opinion.
#HorizonForbiddenWest continues to impress the shit out of me. It was snowing, and the snow collected on the surface of a pond. As I walked through the pond, the snow was displaced and left a trail behind me.
This is such an astounding attention to detail. They didn't have to do this, it would have been perfectly acceptable video game behavior if it ignored me.
@Impossible_PhD I have one massive complaint about FE. The weapon upgrades are WAY TOO GRINDY. I gave up on it because I got so sick of killing stormbirds, tremortusks and the snake things. I spent like four hours on it yesterday and still didn’t get my legendaries upgraded.
Plasma elemental forces cause a target to build up a charge until it explodes, launching them in a random direction. I didn't expect it to launch me AT him.
Good morning and happy Saturday to the entire #Fediverse today!
It's the weekend, so let's all talk about what we all have planned and hope to accomplish over the next couple of days.
I plan to rest, relax and enjoy some video games. Finally able to get started on No Rest For The Wicked and will of course play more Horizon Forbidden West as well.
@cliffwade Yeah, I was meant to do the half marathon last weekend, but injured myself a month back at a race so only actually started running again Monday.
Did well enough, race was mostly fun, the flapjacks after were also great.
Today the mailbox, tomorrow the neighbors house. lol
It's the last day of the weekend, so let's discuss what are plans are for the day to round it out.
For me, it's going to be a lazy day as much as possible. I don't plan to do much beyond rest and relax and likely play some more Horizon Forbidden West.
I just saw MsCupcakes streaming #HorizonForbiddenWest on PC and I think it's the first #VideoGame I've seen with granular difficulty settings explicitly listed in the menus. You can apparently set difficulty in combat independently of difficulty in exploration. It also lets you change how aggressively it suggests hints/gives you the solutions to puzzles vs letting you struggle to figure it out on your own.
Is that normal for AAA games these days? Because that's really awesome and I absolutely wish that more games came with stuff like that instead of relying on the modding community to figure it out. There's also a bunch of convenience and #accessibility settings which is also cool.
