There should be a non-profit accelerator for end-user open source projects that have the potential to make the world more equal, inclusive, and democratic.
We need responsible people to STOP pushing only #Mastodon as this is not helping, just look at the SPAM currently spewing from this process. With this mess we are building a codebase and an instance that are "too big to fail" this is absurdly stupid and not needed.

Yep, we are looking at different codebases, we recently looked at https://calckey.social/@OMN non currently support a database migration so stuck on #mastodon for a while with our #activism instance.
It’s good that people try not to push pointless tech projects… And the majority of new tech projects are obviously pointless. To get an idea of what to push do a #4opens review and publish this, let’s build a community of useful tech together. We need to do better.
#techchurn has made so much #techshit over the last 10 years. There are piles of #mainstreaming and alt tech that needs to be composted to grow a more humane world.

@rabble one of the problems you guys have is the whole #BITCOIN think is poison for a lot of people, this will limit the #openweb growth and push the project into the #encryptions paths. You need to keep the bridge in place to the #Fediverse, so these two paths can keep communicating, with this, if mastodon keeps going down the #NGO path some people will jump ship over this bridge. Or the other way :)
By decentralizing at its core, it is important to not do the obvious #NGO thing and centralize round one codebase and one instances, this is so obviously a stupid thing to do for the #Fediverse and the #openweb, but as you say it's a good thing to do for #mainstreaming so let's talk balance BEFORE you push this out as damage.
