Today, I was a panelist on behalf of @cyberladies at Czech Open Source Policy Forum, discussing with @RezzaBuh and others the current version of Cyber Resilience Act.
Also, this conference is an official start of the first Czech OSPO (Open Source Program Office), created by Open Cities NGO here in Brno, Czech Republic.
A grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will further the work of the Open Source Program Office (#OSPO) at UC Santa Cruz (@ucsc) work with UC partners at Berkeley, Davis, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Diego to promote #OpenSource research, teaching, and public service.
Gisteravond is een veelbelovend initiatiefvoorstel vanuit GroenLinks unaniem aangenomen door de Amsterdamse gemeenteraad.
In het voorstel wordt gepleit om te onderzoeken hoe digitale onafhankelijkheid binnen de @gemeenteamsterdam in 2030 mogelijk gemaakt kan worden. Deze stip aan de horizon moet voorkomen dat de gemeente blijft vasthouden aan het idee dat er geen goede alternatieven zijn voor big tech.

Een intrinsiek gemotiveerde functionaris met autoriteit die de organisatie helpt met het wegnemen van barrières en die zich inzet voor het gebruik van vrije opensourcesoftware en digitale autonomie kan veel verschil maken.

The nonprofit Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has awarded George Washington University a grant of $685,000 to establish an Open Source Program Office (#OSPO) on campus.

@EC_OSPO sounds interesting but it's very unclear what this is, who it helps to and what is meant by support.
I'm an independent #FOSS author in UK and very unhappy that Microsoft own so much OSS infrastructure, which in time they will subject to #enshittification.
Will #OSPO provide alternative infrastructure and if so who will it help and guide?
