Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the incomprehensible nature of the universe, choose one star to focus on. In this moment, the star is shining for you, if only because you took the time to notice.
Someone once told me I have a "strong personality" because I spoke up about a harmful situation. I'm sure this was intended as an insult, but I replied, "Thank you," and smiled.
We autopilot through most of our lives, relying on routines and automatic assumptions about life and the world we live in to save energy.
Today's mindfulness challenge is to reconsider routines and listen to our thoughts - pause and reflect on a few of them.
Remembering to do this at all is the real challenge, so let's use each time our hand opens a door as prompt. If at the end of the day we've forgotten, we can look at our hands and reflect on the day.
