This is not a great photo, but was a great occasion. After 15 months of being in the same house, this is the first time we've ever seen one of the other two cats share a bed with Zaz.
Badger (another Cornish Rex cat) is in the front, with Zaz looking surprised in the background. A real breakthrough.
We've had a great run of warm weather but it's broken at last. This is what we can expect to see from now for the next few months. This is the prettier side of it, which is not always appreciated, especially by me. It's worth getting up close and personal. Have a good #monday friends.
Some young dogs are so demanding. There is never enough playtime to completely satisfy a border collie. This was taken when Joni was 4 months old and we used to tease her that she had a broken ear.
Have a great Friday, friends.
The Last Dahlias before the big freeze to come.
Our dahlias are so lovely finally, it's hard to see the cold weather coming, knowing they will be gone. So here's a video of them today, with the bees still busy in them.
We have a fox Have our racoons gone?
We've had racoons wrecking our lawn for years, in the spring and fall, digging up all the grass in search of grubs. Since we've seen this fox hanging around, there has been no lawn wrecking crew active. I much prefer foxes (not having chickens). A handsome fellow, I hope he has a mate to scare off more raccoons and keep the rodent population down.
Happy Wednesday!
Keeping to a floral theme, here are some tiny forget-me-not blooms in a heart shape, also taken with a macro lens to bring the fine detail to our attention.
This is another of my focus stacking images, taken with my Canon 180mm macro lens. The method involved taking multiple images, each time moving the camera a minute distance closer on a rail. There were a total of 40 images taken to produce this.

We are in October but the hard cold hasn't hit yet and on sunny days like this one was, the bees are frantically busy, lining up for a feed, like Grand Central Station at the ticket counter.
There is something so appealing about red squirrels, especially in their native environment. You can almost forget the destruction they cause when they get into the guts of your car or your walls!
