It's not a fitness workout, it's so I can stand & move.
Besides a few grunts & groans, I do this stretch every morning. I balance on 1-foot, pull my other knee to my chest, hold it, balanced on 1-foot, for 2 mins
I do have slightly different strength in one knee, than the other, & if I am distracted, I'll fall over 😆
Moving slow & shaky this morning and I can't seem to shake off the morning crankies. I hope the food bank is gentle with me today. Feeling fragile. #POTS
I did my 17 minutes of beginner #pilates (leg circles suck) and I felt good so I did 30 minutes of gentle #stretching right after. This is a new #yoga instructor for me. I'll try it again without doing pilates first. I'm nauseous now & headachey & I think I just did too much. (Sounds like it's time for a bowl. Hopefully the munchies will kick in just as dinner starts.)
500 strokes, completely by mistake. Happily rowing in one YouTube class, hit pause to answer a question from the Younger Kidlet & when I unpaused I switched me to another class. 🤷♀️ With a much higher stroke rate. My legs are jello. #stretching up next. 💪I'm too sore for #pilates tonight. (Sad panda.)
I know I'm going to need to really start focusing on cardio if I want to do this right, but I need this time to get there safely.
Stop scrolling. Give me your full attention, just for a minute.
Sit back, take a few deep breaths, and close your eyes. Turn your attention inward for a few minutes. How are you feeling? Physically? Mentally? Emotionally?
What needs your attention in your body, mind, and soul?
What can you do right now to feed your mind, body, and soul?
Take a few more deep breaths, open your eyes, and take ten minutes to take care of yourself before you go on with your day.
@dancinyogi#Practice might be too strong a word for anything I do, but IIRC, the book I have is #hathaYoga. Wikipedia just told me that is now referred to as #yoga, so pretty plain stuff. No space heaters, no goats, no retaining of vital fluids. Just #stretching.
What do you teach?
Here's what it's like being in your 40s: you spend several hours a week doing shit like stretching, cardio, resting, and working out - not to get any better, mind you. But just to keep the same level of decrepitude you currently find yourself in. I gotta stretch my legs for a half hour each goddamn day just so I'm not dealing with crippling plantar fasciitis. This some bullshit.
