In considering replacing my elderly (2018) IPadPro, I walked through the Apple sales configuration dialogue yesterday.
It’s weird, but I didn’t see the options for “CONFERS ‘EXPERT STATUS’” on:
Epidemiology
International diplomacy
US Constitution & all associated legal matters, especially trials & appeals
SCOTUS
US & Int’l politics
Presidential debates, polling & election strategies
Climatology
World religions
All inequality
AI & its implications
Strategic war tactics
—— and every other damn thing (almost) everyone on social media opines about.
Good morning Mastodonians! Slogging along with another day of rain...will it ever end? Can we have a dry spell, please? Rainy weather is hard on my sinuses. But oh well...back to work. The struggle is real.
When love takes us through sun-dappled gardens of our imagination, no stalking horses can perturb the rainbow in our mind or fade its bright colors reflected our memory.
I’m beginning to think the cultural chasm between Americans is NOT between super-rich/average-poor, left/right, atheist/religious, conservative/progressive, power holders/ordinary citizens.
More & more evidence shows the gap to be between those who break with absolute impunity every damn law & moral value they come across - and the rest of us who “do the right thing” 99.9% of the time because it IS the right thing, who pay taxes legitimately owed, who struggle to satisfy our debts, do our jobs, care for those dependent on us, and actually care about others’ welfare.
The differentiation seems to come down to shitty people and non-shitty people, no matter what other factors are in play.
I struggle with the shitties getting ALL of the media’s attention and weighing the rest of us down with their scummy, sleazy, evil antics, especially when (I believe) they are a minuscule minority.
Because I have out-of-state family visiting, I’ve not been on social media much since last Saturday:

🌟 Celebrating the Birthdays of the Gods 🌟
In ancient Egypt, the final five days of the year were celebrated as the Birthdays of five of their major deities: Osiris, Horus, Seth, Isis and Nephthys.
At this time of year, there is great pressure to be "joyful" & "present" even if it is the last thing in the universe you want. Do not discount making it through the day and seeing another sunrise.
Good morning Mastodonians! What a morning...it's lovely, but full of misadventures and stumbling blocks. Like I was to pick up some breakfast for some guests using our conference room, but all the places I buy from were closed unexpectedly! And then I get to the office and the wifi and phones are down! Luckily Panera was open (I know, it's hardly the local bagel bakery, but it's halfway edible) and by the time I got back from Panera the wifi was working again...
