post!

Oh hi! I'm looking to make connections with other people, possibly then eventually meet and do some expeditions together out in the real world at some point. Also, would love to see what others are doing.

Very much into , , , , , . Have been trying to get into photography but I'll admit, I am a little shy doing portraits because I am very critical of my own photos. Also been wanting to get into too~

Reactive state in Native Web Components:

Anyone not using Lit framework, how do you manage reactive state inside native web components?

I am learning about Astro & Web Components.

I have seen examples where javascript proxy objects can be used to updated reactive state in a native web component.

Are there any elegant solutions being used by anyone in this area?

@francis @nosherwan

In my case, it was three days of dragging myself through the unbearable boilerplate harbor to achieve a somewhat reactive native base. Slot content updates, attributes, limited built-in elements extensibility, fulfilling accessibility considerations that gave only diminishing returns... it was not pretty.

I'm liking the idea of and I'd wish I jumped on this bandwagon without hesitation.

Last night, a dream came true - I saw and captured the Aurora Borealis (aka Northern Lights) over Rhossili Bay. I've had this location in mind for years if the conditions were right. And last night it happened!

Astro Survey:

What Type of component library would you use with Astro, knowing that it allows one to use standard HTML web components out of the box?

And the others you have to add as integrations.

Boosts appreciated. 🙏🏼

So I just learnt that Astro framework out of the box allows Standard web components without using an UI framework, I think that is a big win.

I just played around with my new vintage lens that's over 50 years old, and I'm surprised at how sharp it is, even when connected to a teleconverter.

Gear:
• Sony α6400
• Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135 mm f/3.5 (3rd version, zebra, early 1970s)
• Soligor Auto Tele Converter 2X to fit Pentax M42 (Japan)
• K&F M42-Sony E Adapter

So I looked out the window and thought, bright moon tonight. Then realised it's a new moon, so hadn't risen yet.

The brightest aurora I've seen for a long time (the very bright one recently was obscured by cloud). Easily visible to the naked eye, and brighter than any I have photographed before, so much that I reduced exposure from 15seconds back down to 10, and it's still quite bright (iso2500).

Moving 100GB to make space for processing.

Excited to see how it turns out, should be my best.

The Roque Cinchado is the most famous rock formation in Teide National Park. In the background, you can see Teide volcano. I was worried about the large amount of clouds in the sky, but after quietly checking the photos, I think it adds some dynamics. 😶‍🌫️ What do you think? 😊

The night of the huge rock formation which is called the Roque Cinchado, in the background there are starry sky and clouds.

This is my first photo of the Milky Way. I was shocked that the Milky Way can be seen with the naked eye. 🌌 👀 I took the photo in Teide National Park in Tenerife, which is one of the least light-polluted places on earth. Enjoy! I will post more night photos. 😊
