I had to mute over 200 posts in the last 30 minutes or so. Cleaning up the feeds so you can get to a few good posts will take lots of effort because there's no algorithm

Tiens, juste pour le plaisir : une branche de saule cassée retrouvée au bord de l'Ill, et mise à bouturer dans sa longueur. Les bourgeons à l'air vont faire des branches, les bourgeons enterrés vont faire des racines.
Concrete experience always overflows abstract and idealized scientific representations of phenomena. There is always more to experience than scientific descriptions can corral. … The failure to see direct experience as the irreducible wellspring of knowledge is precisely the Blind Spot.
The tragedy the Blind Spot forces on us is the loss of what’s essential to human knowledge—our lived experience. The universe and the scientist who seeks to know it become lifeless abstractions.

Cornel West predicts Biden will drop out as LBJ did in 1968. Hopefully he will drop out but a key difference is that in 1968 LBJ was embarrassed in the New Hampshire primary. Democrats changed the primary rules to keep that from happening to Biden. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/15/cornel-west-biden-election-00131944
@rchusid@jeremy_list I think there needs to be a discussion about the sheer number of excellent people #Biden has put in as advisors. Yes, a younger candidate would be appealing but Biden's #experience and #understanding is undervalued. Who he knows is just as important. I'd love to have an ad of all the things his appointees have accomplished in comparison to Trump's.
Not to discredit #religion on it’s good sides, though.
All that abstraction away of the nit & grit of material life, does allow the sages and saints to arrive at the general makeup of the #experience of being human much more quickly, efficiently and cleanly.
For to crawl through all that dirt and still have your eye on the prize, is much more tenuous and stressful, without reward or praise, or any of that.
Religion grants you companionship. Materialism grants you a place in the universe.
