The cherry blossoms have passed and the lilacs are now in bloom! Beautiful sunny run today. So many birds around. This week running, I have seen four great egrets, a green heron, baby goslings with their Canadian parents, Mallard ducklings with mom, cormorants, and so many red winged blackbirds! I am enjoying the last few runs of my taper! Almost go time!
We were there again this year with some colleagues and successfully completed the 5.3 km course. Georg represented us superbly with a time of 21:38! 🥇
However, all the runners who make the M-net company run a special event every year deserve special recognition. We are already looking forward to next year! 🙂
I had a dream last night that I was at 40k in the marathon & I felt great and it was going really well, so I’m taking that as a sign ;-) 11 days until #ottawaraceweekend
It started with #running a couch-to-10k challenge last summer, and somehow I have managed to #run 500 kms in the last one year. This is the first time in my life I've run so much, and I’m very proud of it. Hoping to run even more this year.
First, the #beagle & I did 3.7 miles, and saw a sweet baby squirrel w/its momma. Then I had a great #run today, good distance, great pace, had a solid sprint at the end, everything about it was great.
Except I had one of those awful #runners experiences: a fly, flew into my mouth, straight to the back of my throat.
You wouldn't believe that this is a dug who has had a 16k #run this morning, 10k #walk over local hills, a #swim in the Teviot an numerous #frisbee sessions down from the office. My partner is away and I am not going to put him on to the phone when she calls 🤣
The beauty of double long runs is that by the second half of the second run, my legs are feeling it and I am shuffling along. Slow and steady means lots of quiet time to look around. So many little wonders!
